ya, i know about the new release. but the prices will just be insane, 3g is still affordable.

pardon the ignorance, but two things:

1. iphone 3.0 is coming out soon, why would they release a new os if they had immediate plans to release a new model altogether?
2. have they ever released new products at wwdc? dont they usually do the new product intros at the keynote earlier in the year and save software stuff for the upcoming date?

3.0 OS will be usable on your existing 3G. the 3.0 isn't supposed to give you a new phone hardware.

sure there is going to be a new phone coming out but 3.0 is reverse compatible with iPhone 3Gs.

The new iphone will probably have an updated camera, possibly video recording? Some predict a front camera for videocalls as well but who knows

its just something that apple is notorious for doing, such as with the iphone 3g. it was launched with the the current 2.x software.

anyone have a link to a tool that can tranfer movies and stuff to any PC back and forth? like i tunes, but not limited to 1 PC and wont wipe out all my shit on the phone like itunes keeps trying to do.

I had that problem too. So I just installed Ifunbox and dragged the ringtone into my phone.

when you connect to a wi-fi connection that's under your house connection let's say? that doesn't contribute to your data plan right? cause i've been using a wi-fi connection and i got a text saying i had reached 100% of my data plan, am i using my connection properly?

wi-fi doesnt count towards ur data

chances are you were always connected to your 3G. if you wifi signal ever drops out, it switches over to the 3g. i forsee a large phone bill in your future.:eek:

that's messed up though, i connected to my network at home and put in a password and all but it would still say 3G, i don't know if it's supposed to be like that

Sweet finally took the effort to lookup how to change the SMS tones. Now I can have something unique instead of the stupid tritone that everyone seems to use lol.

Then ther eis something wrong with your password.

When you are connected to WiFi the icon will change from 3G to the traditional wave wifi icon.

but the password i put in works and after there's a checkmark beside the network. sometimes the wifi icon is there for a second then it'll just go to 3G

I changed my sms tones to the icq "uh oh", noone I know has the regular tritone we all changed ours right when we got our phones :)

not getting alot of replies on my other thread, i thought id post here instead...

i noticed cracks on my white Fido iphone this morning. Will the apple store downtown replace it with a new/refurbisehd one due to cracks, free of charge? I have the original reciept, but it was a gift from a friend, so it's under his name. Would that make a difference? anyone here experience cracks as well?

I have the zagg invisible shield. I bought mine off the zagg.com website when they had a 50% off sale. There's 2 version, the front or back only or the full body. Imo its the best case/screen protector for the iphone. Best thing about it is there's a lifetime warranty on it. If there's a defect with it then you just have to send ur old one back and get a free replacement from them :)
