you don't need to jb inorder to tether, this is available in os3.0

also received a sms from fido, allowing tethering with 1gb+ data plans

I'm so stoked to use 3.0, except it's pretty much usless for my 2G.
Come July 29th when i get my 3GS, I'll be rocking it with a nice data plan all over!

Also, the 3G will not be able to send videos due to not being able to record them. According to the Apple website, 3GS will only be able to record, and with firmware 3.0, be able to send the video

has any tried jailbreaking 3.0 yet?

They're working on it, the 3.0GM version is already jailbreakable. I think by friday we should have a jailbreak for 3.0. They unlocked 3.0 already and it will be in cydia under ultrasnow on friday :D

There's 2 ways u can upgrade to 3.0

1. Restore phone, upgrade to 3.0, jailbreak - You lose everything doing this.

2. Don't restore phone, upgrade to 3.0, jailbreak - my friend says doin this keeps all your previosuly jailbroken stuff on your phone. He did this for a friend before and his jailbroken apps were there after the jailbreak.

Has anyone tried method #2?

tethering uses data from ur data plan i believe
