use Fring, it lets you connect using almost every chat protocol and even supports skype. you can make skype calls from your iphone!

^ Fring is so buggy, and their iPhone service sucks. I havent been able to make a skypeout call with fring using iPhone.

for anyone who used installous for 2.2 and 2.2.1 and now has upgrade to 3.0 you NEED to installed "AppSync for OS 3.0" in order for your installous apps to work. I saw in this thread that some users said they couldnt access their previous jaiklbroken apps and this is the reason why.

So my iPhone 3G (black) has been babied since day one and no drops. Today I noticed that there is a small hairline fracture crack on the back of my phone. Is this a common problem? How much does it cost me to fix my back casing and whats the $ damage?

hmm,.. iv' tried using pwnage to create a custom firmware, but it won't recognize the firmware file i downloaded,... neither will redsnow recognize the custom and restore firmwares i downloaded...

anyone know whats going on?

oh, yeah thats if you're still within the 1 year warrnaty provided. check ur serial number on the apple site, it should tell u

I have the same issue, notes, calender, e-mail accounts, contact, all didn't sync up to my 2G 3.0.. got installous up and running and works perfect.

+1. I just installed AppSync for OS3.0 through Cydia, and now all my Installous downloaded apps from before I upgraded firmware are now syncing back and installing into my 3.0 iPhone through iTunes. :)

well the iphone didnt come out till july 11 last year so its still under warranty

physical damage isnt covered by warantee.

i use both,,. hence why i said i used pwnage to create a custom firmware, it won't recognize the firmware ipsw file. Then on a pc, i tried using redsnow with with the regular firmware, nope, also tried using a downloaded custom firmware, nope...

i use both mac and pc but mac most of the time for hacking iphones. i usually use pwnagetool but have now switched to redsn0w, it kicks ass and is so much better, easier and faster to use.

hoking, one quick tip is to make sure that you have changed the file extension, if you do not then redsn0w, pwnagetool, or itunes wont recognize the restore images.
