and sometimes it doesnt even connect at all??? mine was doing that, took it to the apple store, the guy there tested it out with the wifi in the store and sure enough it was doing it there as well. he told me that it was the wifi transmitter in the phone, i got a brand new refurb unit now :) but i think that you should try everything else like i did, reset your home network and router etc... |

^^ doubt its fake, i think its from the same people that discover the iphone safari exploit back in the days. I do think that this is blow out of proportion though. the conference will be attended by people int he security business not script kiddies. I forsee that it is an exploit that can be patch up with the 3.1 firmware for sure but JB iphone user will get it fast possibly with a mobile substrate update few days later. if that happen thats a big fuck you to people that refuses to jb their iphone. |
^^ lol... im actually getting a little sick of my iphone, theres a few things with it that bug me.. like say if im on msn using beejive and i get a text in the middle of typing something, i always end up hitting the view tab by accident, which then closes beejive and i have to re-write everything.. also, every time im playing music in my car (i use the tape deck adapter) the music stops while im getting my call, which is annoying especially if i dont want to take the call. my blackberry never had any of these problems, the background processes were mint, i wouldn't get interrupted while im'ing or writing a text, little light would just blink.. |
^ your first problem can be fix with iRealsmsquick. what it does it it lets you quick reply to any sms without quitting what ever you are in and open the default sms. you can also dismiss it temporary and there will be a blue sms icon on the statubar indicating you have sms that is unattended. than tapping that will again bring up the quick sms reply interface. You can do all these with out leaving the program. I cannot live without this of course this is assuming your are jb and you should be to prepare for the upcoming iphone Y2K ;) as for the music I don't know how to solve this as i use my ipod for in car listen, you can hang up the call? actually I dunt know of any other phone that will continue playing music when you have a incoming call or else how will you know you have a call? |
wow im going to download that sms app.. ohh shit, i meant that with the bold i didnt have to unplug the headphone jack to use the phone, i could leave it plugged in and it would return to playing my music.. |
ok that sms app is a pay one, are there any that are free? i really do not feel like buying the license for it |

oh well if you are plug in thru the tape cassete obvious you can't use it to answer call, maybe if you hold the iphone up to your mouth. what i do when i use the iphone to play music in my car (very rarely) i also connect it to my car's bluetooth, this way i can answer call without messing around with the cable/the phone. when i hang up the music will resume. no fuss at all. now you car maybe not have bluetooth interfence but there are many cheap - expensive solution you can check out. in any case bluetooth headset should work the same and music should continue when you hang up the call. i hope this is what you are after lol. btw i left a treat for you in you pm;) |

Hey threezero, I sent you a PM about the interface but never got a reply. I also would love the iRealsms, been looking at it for days but don't know if I should pay for it ... Help me out =). |
i sold my 3G yesterday and am totally fucking miserable. its like my best friend died. :crybaby: oh well i have a new best friend coming soon. his name ends with "S" He's 32 comes from GB :lol NOTE: I did a secure erase using Apples built in feature, and my phone was stuck in an endless loop at the logo. reboot -> logo ->reboot. had to put it into DFU mode and restore it from itunes. appaently a known issue. be warned if you are using apples software to erase your phone. |
iphone 3.0.1 has been released today. Hit up your itunes, unless you've jb! |
i wouldnt update untill a JB is released, otherwise you may potentially never be able to unlock your phone. I bet Apple plugged the security hole and will force everyone to update via itunes or ituens will not work. "you need to update to 3.01 to use itunes la" |
Hey, did you end up getting iRealSMS? Quote:

Phewww .... OK, so last night I decided to go all out and try to install this code http://code.google.com/p/iphone-quickreply/. Didn't really realize that it doesn't work with 3.0, but installed it anyway. SSH'd it in, and it totally fucked my phone lol. Everytime i recieved a sms it would totally crash and send me to safe mode. No one had a fix for it and i thought my only option would be to reset everything. Good thing i went into sbsettings and found a way to turn it off. Is there any way to completely remove the code? |
