well i just did some battery testing on my 3GS 32 GB

this morning at 8:00 AM i began playing music videos.

medium brightness, 3G/EDGE off, headphone output max volume, Phone on.

its now 3:10 PM and i have 13% battery left.

6 hrs and a bit so far. not too shabby.

when the phone is drained, i'll plug in the external 1900 mAh battery and see how long that goes for.

Iphone OS 3.1 out today. Anyone tried it?

Anyone else finding that new apps work poorly on the old 3G? I don't have a 3GS to compare with, but I find many apps, such as Navigon, Facebook, and Tweetie frequently crash on the 3G, returning me to the springboard. Navigon in particular is virtually impossible to use due to how slow it responds to touchscreen inputs.

my 3gs right now at 4:24 pm is sitting at 18% battery life. ive been on msn since 10am, did some texting, web browsing and listened to some internet radio via ootunes. its alright i guess.

the 3g is much slower so understandably the GPS apps would run slower to the point of being almost unuseable.

make sure theres nothing runing in the background. IE winterboard and other cosmetic mods, animated lockscreens.

Hmm my GPS software runs alright and I have lots of stuff loaded. On my 3G facebook has never crashed.

Have a question guys. I tried jailbreaking my friend's 3G iPhone on 3.0 firmware. The jailbreak went fine, installed apps and everything, but the network was not activated. He can't make or receive calls. I tried redsn0w and PwnageTool. From what I've read online, iTunes no longer activates the phone unless it's 3.1? Can someone help me out?

Another question: About 15 mins ago, my 2G iPhone froze and its stuck on the startup Apple logo. If this is the case about iTunes not activating iPhones, am I screwed until someone JB's and unlocks 3.1? My baseband hasn't been updated to the latest one yet so I think I can still unlock it. I know I have to restore it in order to use it again. What should I do?

use ootunes, it has quite a few rap stations, my favorites are aol dirty south, dirty south radio thug zone hits and sactown radio... i just wish there were some radio stations from the bay area that i could get, i love the stuff they play.

redsn0w will hacktivate the iphone for you not itunes.

When I did the redsn0w method, it would get stuck at the running Pineapple and it says 'installing activation bundles' with the spinning wheel. It would never get pass this screen. I've googled this problem and haven't found a solution.

^ r u using 3gs or 3g? i had the same problem when hacking my 3gs, until i realized i had downloaded the 3.0 firmware for 3g, and not for 3gs. 3.0 on 3g and 3gs r diff if anyone hasnt noticed.

It's a 3G. I tried redsn0w on a Macbook and a PC and both work fine until I get to the 'installing activation bundles' screen. I've tried it on 2 different 3G iPhones and same result for both.

hot 97.5 vegas. I listen to that here at work and at home :) best radion station IMO :thumbsup:

Got a question when i get a incoming call how do i turn off the slide to answer thing instead i want the two touch buttons that say accept or decline call.

That's a good question. To decline I just hit the power button once, but I don't think this is the right way. I wonder what would happen if you hit the home button instead

You can't. That screen only appears when the phone isn't locked.

i just restarted my 3GS and its stuck the Apple logo "loop".

iTunes no longer allows firmwares lower than 3.1 to be restored. So upgrade and lose everything.

Updating to 3.1 kills your Jailbreak and Unlock, and curently there is no solution.

WTF can i do?

no, all firmwares must be varified by iTunes via internet. anything under 3.1 won't be allowed
