Both Sedins dangled the shit out of Lu in the open practice, too bad Daniel's one hand deke didn't work last night.

Is there an online video with every round of the shootout from last night's Canucks vs Ducks game? The canucks.com video highlights doesn't have the whole thing.

^^ that was the most epic reaction to scoring a goal EVER -- i loved it when i originally saw it, and it's still just as cool today as it was back then!

Canucks Official Calendars are now available at Pharmasave. Got mine this morning. Nice photos. I've been collecting the team photos from past calendars. $4.99 each with portion of proceeds going to Canucks for Kids Fund. http://canucks.nhl.com/schedule/pharmasave.htm

Well there's some people that just have great shots like Linden and Morrison, and some are like Wellwood with great deking abilities. But the rest of the players I have seen through the past few years for the Canucks have been inconsistent. Oh yeah, Ruutu's fake shot and deke was nice too. I think Bieksa tried to do that but lost control of the puck. Quote:

Lu looked pretty bad on that one. Getzlaf skated wide and then cut in, Luongo trid a poke check and missed completely, even threw his stick out of his hands, flopped across and was just lying in front of the net as Getzlaf just patiently waited and shot it high into the wide open net.

The poblem is Lu likes to do the stack the pads and poke check. He's done it a quite a bit in the past with success and tried it a few times the other night. Getzlaf is the first player to make Lu look silly trying it, and if players do their homework on the shootout, don't be surprised to see it happen more often.
There is a reason why the top goalies in the league use the butterfly instead of stacking the pads. In this case, had he stayed on his feet, slid across with the butterfly, Getzlaf would have had nothing to shoot at since he was skating in so slowly.

Yeah, Luongo is a butterfly goalie. He just misplayed that one penalty shot I think. I don't recall him stacking like that any other time recently.

^Crosby, Thorton, and Lecavlier all ahead of him on the depth chart. He's gonna battle it out with Mike Richards for the last center spot.

Yes, I know Luongo is a "butterfly" style goalie, but if you guys watched the shootout that was linked above, you will see that he stacked his pads and went for the poke check.
In fact, Luongo tried the same stack the pads poke check on Travis Moen but Moen puts it off the cross bar.
