i'd rather have brown over pyatt. sundins the big-bodied player who can score and since pyatt doesn't really have any toughness nor fights and brown does, i'd say pyatt has now truly, truly become a pylon. as for bernier or hansen, well, i tend to find bernier is too streaky of a player whereas hansen does PK and shut down roles. hansen has also shown some nice grit and offensive skills as of late. i'd take hansen over bernier.

Everyone seems to forget Pyatt is also on the penalty kill. He might not be physical or score as many goals as he did last year but he's a pretty decent defensive player. We already got a goon in Hordichuk don't need another. We also got O'brien, Bieksa and Davidson to bring some toughness whenever we need it. If you all want to cut Pyatt..might as well cut Bernier, he's done about as much as Pyatt this year. Bernier's 13pts compared to Pyatt's 10 pts while Bernier getting a larger amount of ice time with the twins. Yes Bernier is physical but Pyatt is also better defensively. All I'm saying is everyone expects way too much out of Pyatt, but please don't say Mike Brown is a better player.

Exactly the reason why he's on the PK.

AV & Gillis playing Pyatt all the time to see what he can do with 1 last chance on this club. Hes to slow, not fast enough release on wristers/snappers, and not gifted with the softness to dangle like a wellwood or Ramond. His only assets are long reach for the pk and being the bitch on the road trips

You clearly don't watch hockey or if you do, you don't know how to play the game. Pyatt is not a top 6 player on this team, he is a great player in the bottom 9 who can play in all 3 zones. He knows how to protect the puck with his body, play responsible defense and is rarely out of position. If you are expecting a 25+ goal/60point top 6 player you're looking at the wrong player. AV played him in the top 6 because the Canucks HAD no other players that were able to play there.

I guess the only good news is if Pyatt does stick around he'll be playing the 3rd or 4th line.

I was watching the score yesterday and they were dissing Forsberg and his father. I think his father made comments about the NHL or something.

pyatt as a staple in our bottom six is very welcome. sure everyone is bashing him because he was placed in a scoring role. WHICH he cannot do. but he's really elevated his game the last few games. i do like pyatt when he's not in an offensive role.

Pyatt isn't going anywhere this season, Our PK isnt all that spectacular, and well..Pyatt hasnt really been doing all that great..or all that bad for him to lose the spot. How AV juggles his lines as well, Pyatt seems to end up with the twins for a shift or two, tho not doing much at all! I must say, most of his goals/points all come when the team needed it the most.
Raymond wont go anywhere this season, but dont be surprised to see him in the press box. Raymond's spot is more in danger when u see how well our 4th line is doing lately. Hansen will give him a run for a spot
Mike Brown, doesnt have to worry much, becuz they will slot him in the lineup to fight when they need to.
Rob Davison will get his spot back when he returns, hes tough as nails, and very good faceoff man.
the good and bad comin out of the Sundin signing is we will see players competing for spots on the team, bringing in more energy. And no..MARION GABORIK is not coming to vancouver this year
Minny will not trade him to a team they are fighting the 3rd seed for. Its not like the Wild have completely fallen off the playoff race. Of course, weird moves happen time to time, but if marion gaborik wanted to play with demitra, 09/10 season, just not this

Even if Minnesota was crazy enough to trade their superstar to their direct rival, who would Vancouver trade anyway?
They aren't gonna give Gaborik away for a bag of pucks, and that's all Canucks have to offer at the moment.

We'll for sure wait till the deadline and get a rental player pending our position at the time. Who knows, minny might be out of the playoff contention then and they'd rather get rid of gaborik for something rather than nothing.
I was also telling someone on msn that raymond is not ready for top 6 role so I WOULDN'T put him there yet but that's just me. So when it comes to the deadline, I'd like to see a top6 forward than a Defenceman. Our D core will be fine. Salo is playing good but getting hit from behind with your shoulder like that will hurt anyone so quit saying he is made out of glass base on that hit.

I know Salo has the worst luck when it comes to getting injured but this time it was his own fault.
I think at this point in time Minny already realizes they won't get what they would have for Gaborik anymore. That boat has sailed long ago. Gaborik would be sick to have but I don't want him on our team except maybe as a rental. We would be paying the guy way too much to possibly only play like 50 games. No thanks.

Rob Davison is the 7th D-man. You are talking about Ryan Johnson.

Brown is gone, he's redundant with Hordichuk around and one of Raymond/Pyatt/Wellwood is going to be sitting a lot when Johnson comes back.
I really don't know what to do with Mason Raymond, he's got nowhere to go on this team now... they can try to play him with Sundin and Demitra... but does he deserve to? I don't think so, he's so easily taken off the puck and has a lot of turnovers and I find him frustrating to watch... but his only other spot would be the 4th line and that's not going to do him any good either.
I hate to say it because I really like Wellwood and I wish he was given more chances, but given Vigneault's man-love for Pyatt and his man-hate for Wellwood (he's been playing with Hordichuk and Brown the last 3 games on the 4th line for christ's sake) unless Sundin "says something" like Demitra did for Raymond or Pyatt... Wellwood might be the odd duck out.

^ im almost 100% sure wellwood will not be benched. after coming back from waivers he's being doing really well.
i also dont think that raymond will be sat either, probably cause AV wants to give the kid chances since he's been pretty close every game.

Wellwood has been mainly used a situational player anyway, this won't change and he'll get a chance on a line with Demitra and Sundin at some point guaranteed.

Vigneualt should be fired if he bench Wellwood. I'd rather see wellwood than raymond out there.
Just got the paper today and they have a 5 pages just on Sundin lol. But on the side note, they have a little segment on how angry burke is for not being invited to the linden tribute. He said "I would have flown from anywhere on the planet to be there last night". Do you think he should have been invited? I think he should have been, he's the guy who brought linden back.. who knows where linden would have ended his career if we had a different GM back then.
