Ovechkin doesn't get a free pass just for being Ovechkin. You'll see guys take runs at Crosby because there aren't any players on Pittsburgh who can stand up and protect their stars.
If somebody takes a run at Ovechkin, you can bet your money Brashear will get him. Who are big, tough guys on Pittsburgh? Godard? Matt Cooke? Brashear will tear them apart.

Whats this supposed to mean? You realize the west is a dominant +40 wins over the east this year right? IMO if Burrows was playing in the east (ie. the NO DEFENSE CONFERENCE) he would be putting up BETTER numbers than he does here.
The east is weak as hell outside of Boston, Jersey, and maybe Washington...

I don't know how everyone else feels but I love that the Leafs are not in the playoffs AND not in the bottom 5 teams for the Tavares sweepstakes.

If you're not going to make the playoffs you might as well tank so you can get a good pick out of a shitty season.

Apparently Canucks roster are catching wind that Burrows may be on the way out. Trade rumours in the air apparently among the club. http://canucks.nhl.tv/team/console.j...=35276&catid=6 |

Fucking Cherry, what a douche. His celebrations are so infectious, it's almost like team building. I would rather have a player that celebrates like OV than Nazzy.

Wow, more talk about Grapes than the Canucks in the last two pages... guess what, that's exactly what Grapes does with his shtick, gets people talking. You fell for it, he wins. Don Cherry 1, VOT 0.
I vote to move the subject of conversation to Kristen Reid.

this "rumor" makes no sense at all
edit: to be honest, I think 2, maybe 2.5 is about what he's worth. He's having a great year, but its not like professional athletes are strangers to having slightly anomalously good seasons in contract years. I wouldn't be surprised to see a slight decline next year if he's signed to a deal.

I can't imagine where we'd be had it not been for Nonis. Traded Bertuzzi for Luongo, got 2 second round picks for DAN CLOUTIER. Signed Mitchell.
If Nonis was fighting for his survival, he would've cleared out the prospects pool at the deadline for short term band-aids.

Though the rumour's originated from Pierre LeBrun's speculation, I thought the rumour had more merit than just a mere speculation as this piece was covered by a Canucks journalist and posted on the Canucks Official Website.

sure you can say Nonis did great by making those deals
but imo there's absolutely no way in hell we'd be in the position we are now with Nonis, the guy had no balls and in all honesty Gillis seems to know player personel better overall then Nonis did, i think gillis is a much better hockey guy

He loves to look like the hero by showing support for the troops or by giving advice to young players and stuff. He knows how to pull the strings, for sure.
