Time to rejoice... while we haven't officially clinched a playoff spot yet, it's just a matter of formalities now... even if we lose every remaining game, we SHOULD still make the playoffs.

Sucks that all the teams (Chicago, Nashville, Colombus) are so far away, travel will be a huge factor no matter who we play. | I'd rather face Nash, Huselius, and ......Umberger? Not to get overconfident but their best d-man is Mike Commodore.
over Toews, Kane, Havlat, Sharp, Versteeg (though he was invisible last night). Havlat looked very dangerous everytime he had the puck.

Toews and Kane will crumble in the playoffs, they're too young and inexperienced and the whole team lacks the discipline needed being such a young team as evidenced in Sunday's game... and Khabibulin is a shadow of his Tampa Bay glory days no matter how well he plays.
Just my opinion I'm certainly open to being wrong, I just think Chicago is nowhere near as good as their record makes them out to be.

Like I said before the Canucks don't want to play the Blues, Preds or Ducks. All 3 are red hot but especially the Blues and Preds who could pull off some major upsets in the first round. Another reason why the Canucks have a better chance vs the Hawks is because Nikolai Khabibulin can not win a game vs the Canucks.

They remind me alot of the 2002-03 Minnesota Wild that beat us in the playoffs and went on to the conference finals.
Their defense consisted of Willie Mitchell, Kuba, Zyuzin, Bombadir, Sekeras and Shultz, other than Mitchell, the rest are probably no namers, but they got the job done. They had one big offensive weapon in Gaborik (Columbus has Nash), solid goaltending in Roloson and Fernandez and a excellent defensive style coach in Lemaire (Columbus with Hitchcock).

Khabibulin's played well all year. He's outplayed Huet. He just hasn't gotten back into form after his injury.

was listening to 1040, if flame kept their slump.. we may have a chance playing them as well in the first round....
7 games left looks like nothing, but it can made a huge difference !!
chi/cbj mite not even be in the picture of facing us in the first round

San Jose looks good to capture the President's Trophy with a four-point lead on Detroit.

Though its true Toews, Kane et. al. lack Play Off experience. But the Play Off grind doesn't really begin to take effect until Series #2 and onwards. The first 7 game series should be of similar experience as a WJ tourny.
As much as one cannot underestimate Nash & co., the same can be said with Kane and co. At least with Chicago, they're team isn't centralized to one man. Quote:

Our roster was getting enough goals to win a game, our goalie wasn't keeping enough out.

| I thought we did a pretty good job of shutting down their top guns, aside from Havlat who was allowed to dangle and roam around our zone. Lu made maybe one or two quality saves and the rest were shots from the outside.
I could see Chicago win a series in 6 games, but I could also see them crumble in 4 straight like Atlanta did 2 years ago.

I could see Chicago win a series in 6 games, but I could also see them crumble in 4 straight like Atlanta did 2 years ago. | If you remember the Chicago from early to mid season, I've seen that team's game with all cylinders firing; much scarier than CBJ on a good game.
Granted that I don't foresee them enduring 4 whole series that requires a Play Off run. I do see them getting their act together enough for at least 1 decent series though.
Anyways, just my 2 cents. I don't really care either or. But that opinion was just based on CHI's roster having more individual talent than that of CBJ's. It's really a matter of coaching on how well those talents can be put together again, come Play Off time. Whereas for CBJ, the coaching is matter of making do with their current assets.
