Yeah, they were talking about it on 1040 yesterday and did a call in poll about it. Something like 66% agreed that Burrows should be on Team Canada.

2009 attendance numbers.

The biggest shock to me is the Avs attendance. I know the team sucks this season but their attendance numbers have been declining since 2006. I remember they had a streak of I think 300 consecutive sell outs up until 2006, now their almost nearing the bottom. Talk about the Avs' fall from grace.

US stats;

Quote:
Ratings also increased in Canada where the CBC averaged 868,000 viewers a game through 34 telecasts. That number is up from 850,000 viewers a game in 2007-08 but down from 1 million viewers in 2006-07. TSN averaged 483,000 viewers, a 7.2 percent increase, and RDS averaged 648,000 viewers, a 31 percent increase.

Turns out the stick is legal which puts the Ducks on the PP and ends the game, lol. Talk about an epic fail.
HAHA, ya I saw that too.. but I guess he had to gamble as they are chasing a playoff spot. I would have asked for Getzlaf or Perry's stick instead as Selanne doing it is pretty low %...

Those kind of fans? You take 'em as you get 'em. No big deal. Most of the time its not really a following for trend. When Canucks make Play Offs, most of the time its for local hometown pride; Hockey fan or not.

And hometown pride is always something appreciated. What you gotta love though are Canuck homerisms. Kind of makes you wonder why some individuals feel the need to be superior than others in fandom.

I don't see anything wrong with the hype and bandwagoners. My first year living in Vancouver (I moved here from Australia where there's zero hockey) was 1994. I think we all remember what happened with the Canucks that year.

It's what got me interested in hockey and has made me a fan and a season ticket holder.

It's good that the playoff fever is getting people interested in the game. It's even better for the Canucks revenue wise, that's for sure.

Heard that too. Pretty funny. Also funny when BMac got corrected when he thought april fools was only a N American tradition.

Ya that 1040 interview was hilarious..

Bro-in-law texts me "holy crap dude bure gonna play with Canucks...and he's in game shape etc etc..." as I turn on the radio..i'm like BULLSHIT....i text him back aprils fools u tard..

his reply back

"I knw I'm just enjoying them going on and on." <---- FAIL

On Rypien...theres a bunch of speculation out there..its not a criminal issue for sure..
I've heard that he got addicted to painkillers with so many injuries..and that's what is personal issue was...it makes sense cause he's always injured and he plays a style his body or anyones body could not sustain game in and game out...

Again, this is rumour jargon - so take it for what it is.....it does make sense though...
If it is true - hopefully the worst is behinf him...he got almost 11 mins last night which was gtreat to see 1 shot on net and an even rating....GO RIPPER!

Anyone hear about the conspiracy theory on team1040 concerning the Sedins getting less ice time from AV because the Canucks don't want the Sedins to rack up points in a contract year?
