Anyways awesome year of hockey although disappointed with the Canucks again but will always believe. LOL I even bought the replica Stanley Cup.

There's no reason really, I like both of them, they're both elite players and have bright futures ahead of them, but Crosby excels in the leadership role more than Malkin. They both played tremendous hockey this year and it's not easy to pick an MVP out of these two as Crosby was great early on and Malkin turned it up in the end.

Fact is, The Malkin/Crosby duel is mighty
look at the caps/pens series. Malkin was cold, Crosby fills his void by SCORING. Throughout the whole playoffs, Crosby was the playmaker and others would finish, but he will step up and fill the role whenever someone was cold/injured. He has for sure silenced my doubts about this kid with all his whiney bullshit. let him whine, but he finished the playoffs with a splash. Sad to see him limping to the bench, but he played the final period like there was nothing wrong with him

That CBC playoff montage reminded me how many times the Canucks got sticked or elbowed in the face and there was no call from the refs LOL

Wow......... stopped watching hockey after the Canucks lost.
Awesome that the Pens won. Good for them. Detroit doesn't need another cup.

Sometimes I wonder what's it like to be a Red Wing fan. Consistently finishing top 3 after the regular season, kinda gets predictable.
I guess they just wait for playoffs.

If anything - people should be feeling bad for him and not the other way around. This isn't a case of a player ditching his former team to sign a huge money contract. | Again, I posted that he is only 30. There is no reason he will not be given another 8-10 year multi million dollar deal. So did he really take a discounted contract to play for the Wings?
If that Oiler deal really was $90M over 10 years, that is an average of $9M per year. So to go from $9M to $7.5M, I don't consider that much of a discount.
With the way the NHL is going and the throught of a lower cap in the near future, signing stars to multi year front heavy contracts will be more of the norm, assuming they decide that those stars are the guys they want.
But all this is based on heresay since no official numbers were given on what the Oilers had offered.
If heresay was 100% true, then Pronger would be a King now.

If heresay was 100% true, then Pronger would be a King now. | you said it yourself. there is the thought of a lower cap, so if i'm a gm, i'd be less inclined to offer hossa the type of money edmonton offered, especially after his point production dropped significantly since he was with the pens. that is the risk hossa took in not taking the guaranteed long term deal. and 9 million is 20 percent more than 7.5..that's quite a significant amount of change if you ask me. and more like than not, hossa is gunna continue to be a 7 mill player after his performance this playoff season which means he's gunna be taking a hit this coming season and possibly the seasons after.
there's not much we can attribute to hearsay when there's a direct quote from his agent saying he took 85 million less to play for detroit considering these guys are professionals and are always extremely cautious about what they say to the media.

Whatever the hell it is, let Hossa's story be a lesson to Luongo. Karma's a bitch.
He has a stable future here. He could be the next Linden. The only reason why people don't attach themselves to Luongo is his reluctance to commit and his high probability of selling out for an easier route to the Stanley Cup. It's not like the Canucks are a consitently basement team. We're no Detroit but at least we're a legitimate team year in and year out. And we don't tank for a decade to farm drafts.

If he continues with this bullshit "I want to play in a city that is a cup contender" while doing interviews, ship the captain off before he hits free agency.
Luongo is an elite talent...but may not have the mental capabilities that even Osgood holds. On team1040 I remember them talking about how the Blackhawks got under his skin with the constant crease crashing and Bfygulien's dirty play. I find this to have some truth to it...as we all saw Lu collapse near the end of that Hawks series

*** He wants to tag along Detroit (or the like's) winning record.
*** Or he just wants to reap all the benefits of franchises who's tanked a decade long season after season to farm 1st round draft pics...
Well he can go fuck himself and I hope he suffers a Hossa. Seriously, he's a great goalie but he's not "too good" for this team.

After they divided the line I was about 50th-75th and by 1pm the lineup already stretched all the way around the building. They kept emphasizing a 1 autograph limit per person but Trevor being a good guy signed two items for many people in front of me and myself.
Anybody else go? I always rock my Linden '96 alternate jersey to his signings, maybe you guys saw me!?

Lidstrom got speared in the balls by Sharp, had to have surgery on his testicles and only missed 2 games, wow what a warrior. With all the injuries I'm surprised the Wings even made it to game 7, so much for Euros being soft and not playoff warriors huh.
So it was basically:
- Lidstrom, testicle surgery
- Datsyuk, broken foot and charley horse
- Zetterberg, hand injury
- Ericsson, appendix surgery
- Cleary, groin
- Draper, neck and groin
- Kopecky, broken orbital bones
- Rafalski, herniated disc
