Badass !!! |
Been looking at a lot of horiryu work and I'm liking a lot of it over Jeff tams. Hopefully I can figure out what I can get done on the other side of my hannya by then. Wish I knew how to post up a pic I'd show you guys. Pretty sure it's non traditional, do traditional artist care about working around non traditional pieces? |
Think I'll finally buck up and get my first one before the summer's over. Kamloops doesn't have a lot of places that impressed me aside from Sakred Skin. Anyone have any experience with them or heard anything about their artists? |
My tattoo fund is growing to much and have 0 ideas of what i want to get next and who to do it :( |

Steveston Tattoo doing a walk-in day July 26.. If you wanted to get a small tattoo without having to wait for an appointment. Be there early and line up .. I know at least one person here was complaining about the wait, so there's your chance :) |
They actually do a walk-in day once monthly. |
Yup next one is July 26, for that person who wanted to get a small script without waiting for an appointment |
^too bad I'm not in vancouver. Have a little tattoo I would like Jesse to do would love to skip lineups lol |
I'm looking for an artist to do some black line/dot work. Any suggestions? Something similar to these: Katia Somerville - Rainfire Tattoo Studio - Vancouver Waitlist for these two are sometime next year and I don't want to wait that long. TIA |
Katia's the best in Vancouver for dot work. Wait. I don't understand why people are so reluctant to wait a few months for something that will be on their body for a few decades. |
Got my head and knuckles done .. Ran outta time for my toes but glad we did !.. Lol i was in too much pain ! http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...ps9lk8tx8l.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...psdradewjt.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...ps5i7uq1kj.jpg |
I love brightly colored japanese pieces such as this one by horiryu what are his rates? I heard that his wait list is quite long. does anyone know any other local artist that do great coloured pieces such as this one? |
he charges by piece |
Horiryu's list is currently at around Oct. 11 Can someone recommend a few artists that are able to get a lot of detail into a small space? I want to get a detailed ouroboros on my shoulder and I'm not too sure which artist to go to. I like more realistic work |
lol oct is nothing, i waited 5 months with Cohen |
yeah, i waited about 4 months for cohen. i would prefer to complete most of the work rather than do smaller multiple sessions.. which is what he prefers. but doing 3x4 hourish sessions and taking the time off work+healing process was annoying |
Btw I cut up my leg a bit over the weekend and ther s a few scabs.. Not too deep but I want to heal it up as quick as I can and minimize any damage to the ink. Any tips? |

Finally got a new tattoo today, to cover up a shitty tribal tattoo I got when I was 18. Fast forward 15 years, and I was loooong overdue for an upgrade! What are your thoughts on aftercare? My artist said not to bother with any ointments the first day or two. Just washing it gently with the proper soap a few times a day (mainly in the morning and at night). Then hit it with the Lubriderm to keep it moisturized. Others swear on the a&d ointments for the 1-2 days. Topics like this have been beat to death all over the net, with different theories all claiming to be the 'right' way.... I'm gonna stick with what my artist said, but I'm curious what you guys do/have done? And to stay on topic, here is a pic of said tattoo :) Spoiler! |
I never do anything other than a good scrub once or twice a day with unscented dove and some generic unscented lotion if it gets dry. It rarely gets the lotion though as I find the scrubing and washing is usually enough. |
Yeah man don't clean it lightly, you want to get all that scabby shit off when you can. Of course this doesn't mean use a scouring pad.. use your hands and soap and rub it off with some friction. Best ointment is Oronine which you might be able to get in an asian store. That shit is magic and I use it for everything not just tattoos :lawl: Just read the FAQ |
