Some guys I've really liked recently, I tend to lean more towards realism and black and grey than traditional stuff

A couple guys were asking about James Acrows wait list times. When I got in with him it was only about a month or two wait. I think he always keeps his schedule pretty light. I was hoping to finally get started with him this new year but now have to go back into hospital for about a month with up to a year of recovery time after, so it looks like no new ink for me anytime soon. I have now gotten in with acrow, rob hope and james tex and had to cancel with them due to unexpected shit happening in my life. The tattoo gods are against me!

Lol first piece! Thats fucking awesome! My first tattoo was a half sleeve. After like 10 minutes I was just like "what the fuck have I gotten myself into?" Can't imagine all the thoughts going through your head.

jmanhas 10-24-2014 09:50 AM

haha it didn't hit me as hard as your tattoo did for you. Its probably because its on my back, and i don't see it unless i look in the mirror. It's definitely addicting lol

VR6GTI 10-24-2014 02:00 PM

Thats a big piece for your first piece damn

white rocket 10-24-2014 02:24 PM

alwayslive 10-25-2014 08:00 PM

I definitely know what you mean. I started looking into getting my next piece the second I left the shop! Been really craving to get a calf sleeve lately.. How does the pain compare to other parts of the body?

So I just got my first tattoo from Jeff Tam today, sat for 5 hours no breaks.
Last hour was pretty brutal, the shading definitely started to hurt a lot.

I have a question though. He told me don't get it wet for 24 hours, and don't moisturize for 48 hours. Is this common? I always thought it was good to wash that dry blood off...
I thought i heard wrong so I went on his website, and that's exactly what he wrote.

I would definitely listen to Jeff. How long was his waitlist?

I wouldn't do it that way but all I can say is "listen to your artist"

I waited a really long time for him, i don't remember exactly how long tbh, but I know for sure as of today, he was told someone who walked in that he has a 2 year wait list if the guy wanted to wait.

super sore on my chest and arm right now though

white rocket 10-26-2014 12:07 AM

Opinions on after care can vary. None are really "wrong" though. No reason not to trust Jeff's opinion. He's been in the game a while. Best advice is to not scratch or pick at it during the healing(itchy) process.

I hear ya on the after pain. Reminds me of road rash. Usually hurts more afterwards because your adrenaline has worn off.

Ah I guess that isn't too bad. I know he probably charges by piece, but around how much did it cost you?

XTC_604_DKNY 10-26-2014 04:50 PM

My piece is being charged per hour.
I believe his rate is 180 or 200/hr.
Still prob have another 10-15 hrs left on my piece I bet.
