But anyways he was looking for someone who does in his words more chartoonish type of style. What he wants is headphones behind his ear, and then he wants to start the on a sleeve at one point starting with a music note, and a pot leaf I believe. Any help would be great and I'd Appreciate it. Also showed him the FAQ sticky so he's checked that out.

That really sounds like the type of tattoo someone would regret in 20 years...

westopher 02-03-2015 09:18 AM

Or 20 days.

white rocket 02-03-2015 09:36 AM

Or 20 minutes. Hell, I'm already getting feelings of regret for your friend.

phantom x 02-03-2015 11:08 AM

Wow, how old is he?.. Gotta pay ur dues before u go to areas like neck and hands , plus things like pot leaves are a given for a "tattoo regret"

Hondaracer 02-03-2015 11:23 AM

Lol

A labourer we used to have working for us was tatted right up, both sleeves as far as I could tell and apparently his chest/back as well, kind of half ass work but to each their own

He started to get his hands worked on while he still worked for us, on his right he had an orange grenade that took up most of the top of his hand, the reasoning for it was because it was his "throwing hand" lol :s

My friends 24 and he doesn't want a neck tattoo it's behind his ear and it wasn't going to be a big piece. He's planning on getting it pretty small. And for the pot thing I asked him the same thing but the way I saw thought of it was it's his body if that's what he wants then whatever, he doesn't want it on his hand. I look at some tattoos and think wtf was he/her thinking if you want or like something whatever..... Personally I think the pot leaf is up there with "thug life". But who am I to say that, people might think my hannya is lame. I'm just trying to help a friend out.

white rocket 02-03-2015 12:38 PM

I honestly sounds like a fairly easy and basic tattoo your friend wants. Pretty much any reputable shop should be able to do that for him.

Seconded! Was also wondering how long your wait list is?

My rates are 130 an hour and its roughly about a 2 month wait atm :spamarama:

Alpine50 02-03-2015 11:40 PM

@godzira I wasn't trying to diss you in any way appologize I'm just saying everyone is entitled to get what they want. If he wants that then whatever that's his choice just like you went with "thug life"

denham 02-04-2015 01:26 AM

On my leg. Went there with my dad in 2005, he died a couple of years later, so I got this for my dad and to remember the trip we went on to our favourite racing circuit!

Japanese isn't the style of tattooing that interests me for myself, but your work is making me seriously question that truong.

I think it's a really cool idea, rather than getting their names or bdays or whatever its something unique :)

SkinnyPupp 02-10-2015 06:02 PM

I like the idea of 1 or 2 tattoos drawn by your kids, but your whole arm? :heckno:

To each their own of course but I don't think it looks good

white rocket 02-11-2015 08:26 AM

Agreed! Definitely a cool idea but I would have chosen different placement for each piece. Maybe the back calf area.

Shakotan K 02-11-2015 06:39 PM

truong, are you holding a position at Chronic for an extended amount of time, or just up there for a couple days?

I'm in Toronto more than I am in Vancouver nowadays due to school, would definitely like to get a piece done by you sometime in the future.

On an unrelated note, anyone know the wait time for James Acrow? Looking to get a small piece done over the summer, should I start contacting him around now for a spot? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

alwayslive 02-13-2015 12:08 PM

sucks that there aren't any artists here that can do the chronic ink style :( been wanting to get a tattoo from them but not too sure if I want the pay 500+ for each trip plus hotel fees lol
