Exactly what I was going to say. When you look at the really old pics, some barely even go lower than the front shoulder area.

crappy pic, really need to find my dig camera. Still healing and peeling. starting to come together nicely, about 9 hours total so far.

still trying to decide what to do on my chest to tie it all together. Maybe a Oni throwing up the horns lol. Going to do a Kapala on my other side.

I've looked at all the suggestions here but the only one I really liked was James Acrow. I emailed him but he still hasn't responded to me. I guess he's no longer taking in clients. Sigh...

I'm going to take a look at some of these shops once I get back from HK.

For you guys who get a lot of work done, what is your healing routine like and what lotion/ointments you guys use?? I just started trying this Aquaphor stuff and so far I really like it. I switch to regular unscented lotion after about 4 days into healing.

imo the best way to heal is to dry heal. I've started dry healing my works when i started getting pieces after pieces and putting on lotion is just too much work or I simply forgets.

My routine nowadays is just A&D Ointment first three days and after that all i do is shower and pat/air dry tattoo.

I do find that the soap you use when you shower is more important than the lotion you put on after, most of the soap we use nowadays have so much chemical in it it dries out your skins. I like to use Dr.Bonner soap for when I'm healing, it doesn't dry out the skin and thus no need for lotion.

Having said that I do use lotion occasionally after my tattoo heals and for some really expensive pieces i would put some tattoo goo or other tattoo lotion on if I feel like it. If anything the lotions/ointment doesn't help you heal the tattoo it just makes yourself feel better cuz its not as itchy or dry

Anyone know what type of snake this is? All snakes from horiryu in strictly tattoo are the same.

threezero 04-17-2012 07:59 PM

short answer yes. I've seen my buddies' snake from horiryu its basically the same

Jegz 04-17-2012 08:29 PM

...so what kinda snake is it :suspicious:

threezero 04-17-2012 08:51 PM

its just a traditional japanese irezumi snake in horiryu's style...

Are you asking what breed it its?
if so there is no breed, all animal no matter if its a dragon tiger or snake that depicted in traditional japanese tattoos are presented as mythical creatures, they take inspiration from from creature in reality but are still a mythical creature.

Jegz 04-17-2012 09:11 PM

oh what i thought dragons were real :suspicious:
