CL typeS 09-16-2012 08:15 PM

I found strictly is quite expensive? My buddy did a a half sleeve koi, no chest piece and he paid $2000 sth, and it was 10 hours or so. What do you guys think?

lundyt 09-16-2012 09:42 PM

Anyone ever experience white dots rising out of shaded areas on their tattoos? Something similar to goosebumps or small zits. Did a quick search online and people have started they got it during healing process but I got mine done almost 3 months ago and they just recently started showing up. Will post pictures when I get a chance

Are you really fair skinned? I have that problem with red ink due to a certain ingredient in the dye that colours it. It happens when I'm in the sun a lot. I've heard it's actually somewhat common in very light skinned people. Never looked much more into it because it barely ever happens.

So that would avg out to $200/hr which is not bad at all for quality, unless you thought it was meh. Tats are forever and you can't really put a price on it so to speak. Jeff Tam charges $220/hr i believe.

westopher 09-16-2012 11:28 PM

Thats pretty expensive man. Even Steve Moore only charges $180 an hour, and in my opinion he is probably the best artist in Canada. (of course thats subjective to the style you like, but many people think so as well) I do agree though, price shouldn't be a factor when getting tattooed. Just checked out Jeff Tam. Very amazing work.

ya thats around his usual price,
friend got a half sleeve and chest, its two foo dogs. its on horiryu's fb.
anyways his was 17 hours his was $3400
my half sleeve from horiryu took 10 hours as well but he only charged me $1800.
To me, he's worth it.

Jeff Tams $220 now? When I walked in to ask 6 months ago he quoted me $170

I'm actually pretty dark but spend a lot of time in the sun. I guess I'll give it some time and see what happens when it gets cooler

It's just to my understanding because the last time I spoke to him which was at least a year ago he quoted $220 on the phone.

+1 my buddy is getting charged abt 160 an hour by jeff at the moment, dont know if it makes a difference but its a leg sleeve. I think he said it usually ends up cheaper too the longer the session is?

How'd you deal with it?

threezero 09-17-2012 11:13 PM

^don't do anything, the more stuff you put on it the more irritated it gets. Tea tree cleanser could help but really i won't just leave it the hell alone it will heal itself.

in the end i wanted black/grey work, non-traditional so i felt strictly wasn't the best fit for what i wanted to get and booked with jesse at blackwater instead, i believe he is 160/hour.

he does charge by the piece,
to get the per hour charge, just simple division.
and usually ends up to be around 180-200/h
