Can anyone else recommend some Japanese artists worth checking out in vancouver besides the ones already mentioned in the first post? Im looking to get some good black and white work |

how much money am i looking at in general for a peice that takes up 1/4 to 1/3 of my back with a decent amount of shading? like 2k? this would be under the assumption i'm going to be paying $180+ an hour |

$2k is a decent estimate, depending on artist and design choice. Some artists offer day rates depending on how long you want to sit. I was able save a little cheddar going that route. |
It would be all black and grey yea Posted via RS Mobile |
why don't you ask your chosen artist and not the internet. Large tattoos cost big money unless chosen artist is a good friend. 1. Figure out what style/tattoo you want 2. Find a artist you like 3. consult with artist about design/size/placement/price etc. It's really that easy folks |
because i aint got time to commit to see multiple artists on quotes and i was looking for a ball park figure broskie! anyways i contacted Cohen Floc about a consultation, his work seems to be in the direction of what i'm looking for and it seems to be of quite good quality so anyways same tattoo as i was looking at before, Finnish coat of arms on my back over the right shoulder, probably 1/3 of my back? here's basically the standard image of it that its known by etc: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...psfd000b48.png i know that it probably depends on what Cohen would want to do etc. but my question is do you guys think it would be better to go with somthing with more of a 3d look through shading such as this: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...ps83bfc22e.jpg or more traditional like this? http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...psda5c61c2.jpg Cohen's site is down right now for some reason but he had examples of similar styles in both in previous pieces he had done |
It's up to you. The simpler the design is, the smaller it can be. You could get a shoulder piece that is the size of a hand, and make it really simple. Or if you have the $ go for something more detailed like in the pics you posted, in which case you'll need to go bigger |
It's your skin, pick w/e style appeals to you. If you end up picking a style you weren't really sure about you may end up regretting it. |
Sorry for all the noob questions but do consultations cost $? Posted via RS Mobile |

Hondaracer - some bodies, like mine, tend to rapidly fade the ink. Therefore, some of my older tattoos look half complete, as the red ink is faded away and some of the lighter black "shading" is gone. If you know your body holds ink well, then 3D might be an option. If you fade and eat the ink, then stick to bold and basic. If you don't know cuz it's your first, I'd stick with something more bold that will always look good over time. |
