^Yes. That's what kardboard was saying. You only need to install the other .sis file since dep.sisx is already installed.

....annnnd I figured it out. Gotta yank out the fake USB/cardslot cover then pry the stainless steel battery cover off. Annnnd no...can't use it as a housing. We could probably use the screws, as they're Phillips head ones, not the T6 ones on the real phone. I've done that with a 902SH dummy before to replace the stripped screws in my real phone. Maybe the keypad too? Not sure if I can take it apart any more without the chance of damaging the dummy. |

Want sell me the lower metal front part of the dummy? =P
Looks like the dummy is pretty much just help by glue, eh?
Better luck with the eBay housing, hopefully.
Did you try unscrewing the 4 screws on the back and popping the front cover off?
or is that glued on too?

Sorry, keeping it with my other dummies in my gadget drawer. It was like $15 though lol
I did unscrew the four screws, but there was a fifth one that I looks like is under where the camera would be that was holding the front down.

I'm assuming this phone only comes unlocked from what I found
which data plans are you using from fido/rogers? I thought they check the IMEI's and you could only use their phones for data plans. this phone looks awesome and i would love to tack on a data plan (w/o contract) to my voice plan at fido with this phone.
Any sample low light shots using this phone?

Any sample low light shots using this phone? | They don't check IMEIs unless you're using the BlackBerry 6GB plan...which you shouldn't. Use the Smartphone one....but that's over now as of Sep. 30. Not sure about Fido.
Low-light shots are garbage. Trust me. |

thnx for the quick reply
what choices do I have for fido data plans (that don't require a contract?)
tethering would be nice with my 1000H 'cause wireless at school is slow as shit
what's there to hack on this phone, i thought it comes unlocked with s60 running on all of them. are there restrictions on installs? I guess I'll research on this more
the prices I'm seeing are about $500...

the prices I'm seeing are about $500... | No idea about the plans. Not much to hack? I dunno, it's S60, it's unbranded, it's unlocked. No restrictions other than the ones that are inherently in S60 (i.e. needs to be signed, etc.)
Prices for gently used ones are around $400, and that's a steal! I paid $530 for mine because it was an impulse buy on eBay and then Customs raped me. Learn from me. |
