I figure that you need to see that some guys can't do the clingy thing. If my gf sent me text messages every 5 minutes I could see that getting annoying very quickly. 10-20 messages per day is pretty good.

It's the question of: how long have you and "guy 2" been seeing eachother? He still might be playing it slow, and feeling you out.

If your seriously clingy to the extreme and he's not a good fit for you.. don't second guess yourself, just move on. Tons of fish, in the sea.
