If it were me I'd probably say "hey, I noticed you were texting with ____ yesterday, how's he doing? It's been a while since you worked together"....just try to be casual and not accusatory.

back 10-15 years ago, dating something MEANT something, you think about them, the chase, the constant wait for to hear their voice, read their text. That's the best thing in the relationship, the dating AND the chase. (i'm a guy and I don't quiet enjoy the chase but I know it has to be done and girls enjoy the feeling.)
It's what dating nowadays is different. YOu meet them, 2nd date you kiss nad 3rd date you sleep with them, NO WONDER you two lose steam so quick. Enjoy the ride, sometimes the ride is the journey to be enjoyed.
