Nobody wants to hear someone complain, so you try to be positive, but seriously.. it gets to a point that you find yourself looking in the mirror and wondering what there is to be positive about.
Hate your 9-5 job because the atmosphere sucks.
Traffic here makes it more like a 7:30-6 job.
Can't quit because of financial dependencies.
Can't move companies because of a probable pay cut.
Go to night school to upgrade, yet that adds more stress and isn't cheap.
When you finally get home after everything, you still cook/clean/prep for tomorrow.
And these are just the big repetitive things, there are always the "little things" you "aren't supposed to sweat"
You work hard all week for the weekend, just to rinse and repeat everything over again for the next 40 years. Life can seriously be stressful and depressing.

| You reminded me when I was young. Give or take 15 years ago.

I was told "Sometimes in order to move forward, you have to take a step back" I did; took a leap of faith to take a pay cut and I was so thankful I went to a new company with a much better future after grinding it out.
I saw my own reflection when I saw people who are in their 50s+ and still work at retail for the past 30 years at a $15 dollar job. They were so unwilling to take a step back and jump ship all because a) got to comfy b) not taking risk to start a new job.
Leaving my job was the best decision ever. Yeah, rent was $1500, 3 guys, 1 bedroom, minimum wage does suck but it always work out.
