Just had a nightmare about getting a huge ass bald spot on my head. I guess I'm subconsciously paranoid about losing hair.

Hondaracer 08-07-2008 04:14 PM

Maybe some of this hairloss could be stress-related?

GoateeMe 08-19-2008 08:15 PM

my life isnt that stressful i dunno man but its embarrasing and with this skorching heat wearing a hat is bad man

yameen 08-22-2008 12:03 AM

look up nioxin, i've been using the conditioner and shampoo for awhile. definitely notice thickening of the hair even though i'm still losing hair. type nioxin in google and check out their products. it says, 9/10 work.

Hondaracer 08-26-2008 07:39 PM

u guys using Nioxin are u using the #2 program or w/e the 3 bottles?

i bought the one with the shampoo, revitilizer, and the foam for scalp, but there's no exact instructions on it? i just use the shampoo, then the revitilzer once a day, i havent began using the foam yet because i dont want to start using it if it's somthing i'll have to continue from here on in..

also if i do start using the foam, u guys think it's ok to use at night when im sleeping?

yameen 08-27-2008 01:34 AM

i only bought the shampoo and conditioner (cleanser and therapy). supposedly i'm suppose to use both everyday but i use the conditioner about 3 times a week since the conditioner is used last and it makes my hair oily faster. i'm using system 1 because the stylist said i don't need system 2 when i myself think system 2 is good. for all you people out there losing hair, make sure you have enough vitamins to keep your hair strong, which is what i'm doing everyday now. i take multivitamin pills.

My boss recently sent us an email on the special properties of Honey and apparently it's believed that a concoction of alcohol and honey (in small amounts...of course) will promote hair growth.

Someone try it out and report back! :D

ecchiecchi 09-08-2008 12:18 PM

Girl! Try It!

Girl 09-08-2008 12:37 PM

waddy41 10-26-2008 10:09 PM

anyone know about losing hair on just one side?

i'm only thinning on the right side......so strange

What_the? 10-29-2008 12:22 AM

Proscar and Propecia are the same thing (finasteride)... One typically used for hair loss, one for reducing prostate enlargement... Both are due to testosterone, and the medication essentially affects and enzyme resulting in the reduction of the conversion of testosterone to its active form...

There are alot of people who cut proscar 5mg tabs into quarters and take 1/4 of a tablet instead of the propecia 1mg tablets, and alot of patients have given me pretty good feedback about it...

Rogaine 2% is available over the counter and people have had decent results as well... probably not as great as the proscar/propecia, but some people don't like the idea of taking a medication... Also, if you have a third party insurance plan, they will most likely not cover over the counter products like rogaine, but will likely cover proscar tablets.

up to you

Hondaracer 10-31-2008 03:55 PM

to be honest I recomend proscar to anyone and everyone with thinning hair, i've been using it for probably 2 years now, and just recently i've been using Nioxin, my hair is seriously looking awsome, it no longer looks "thinning" besides when i wear a hat and it gets matted down etc.

other then that it looks great!

GoateeMe 10-31-2008 08:32 PM

anything else?

Hondaracer 11-02-2008 12:42 PM

in the last 2 posts everything that actually "works" has been posted, what else are you looking for?...

silver5 03-21-2009 12:45 PM

where can you buy Neoxim shampoo?

waddy41 03-21-2009 10:08 PM

u can buy it off me =) i have a brand new bottle with receipt from the states...asking $15

Tapioca 03-23-2009 09:32 AM

In addition to prescription drugs, you could always look into herbal/natural supplements. You'll find that supplements used to ward off prostate cancer are linked to hair growth/retention as well.

I contemplated taking Proscar for a while too, but the negative thing about these meds is that once you start, you have to take them for the rest of your life to retain your hair. For most people, health benefits specifically do not cover meds for male-pattern baldness. I know that eventually I'll need to do a Lex Luthor, but for now, I'll stick with using a number #2 razor for the next several years. (Fortunately, I have the right shape for a bald head.)

Mind you these are mid 30's-50 year old men who did the trial. Fantastic results from a laser comb and pretty cheap comparatively ($700 one time fee)

Where do people get their rogaine supply? Seems pretty expensive from london drugs ($50). I wonder how legit will ebay stuff be.

BNR32_Coupe 03-23-2009 07:52 PM

instead of a laser comb, they should make a laser hat. that way, you get more laser shining on your hair, which would make it grow longer faster, while you're concealing your bald head!
