I thought it was pretty hard...I read through everything and still didn't get some of the stuff...maybe I just didn't study hard enough

ugh what a terrible course... im never taking a phil course again, so happy that im finally done with it

i guessed 98% of the stuff on that exam... oh god... however, i got 74% on my paper =D
so are exams going to get scaled? lol

BD2002 12-13-2009 07:41 AM

Class overall is scaled I believe.

The final was harder than the midterm. (aka, FUCK YOU PROF)

Luckily I don't have her for any phil courses next semester.

IDK, that was toooo broad for a class IMO.

I like that kind of stuff, but it was so broad. Definitely and intro course.

I got 73 on my paper. 86 on my first so I was like WTF.

Got average on the midterm, hope I do meh in the class...

Luckily I have told my parents that I get one semester too see what the deal is and now I realize I need to study throughout the semester... so next semester gotta do more work.

Anyone see the road conditions for tonight (Dec 11th evening)

Got an exam on the 12th at 1530-1830 but haven't had a chance to put my snowies on (still have my summer low profile tires) so just need to know if the roads are just wet or actually iced/slush.

VooDood 12-14-2009 01:00 AM

aw shit, i need some major help/advice here... please help T^T
im on ap this sem, and i didnt do too well, not sure if i can get above 2.00 gpa.
thing is, i heard somwhere that if you're a part time student and your gpa for the term is below 2.00 you wont get the boot? can anyone confirm this? im really freaking scared right now. i did some calcs and i need to get a 93% on my arch100 exam, and i highly doubt i can do that T^T. Thanks in advance.

ienhz 12-14-2009 01:17 AM

no offence but if you fail a course like arch 100, things will only get much, much worse when you hit 300-400 level courses.

i would talk to an advisor and see what they can do to help. i think there's a program at sfu for people with low gpa's.

Why don't you just take the bus? If it's so bad that the buses aren't running, exams won't be either.

Shit, complete fail on my part, been studying too much i'm all over the place, been studying at UBC for 9+hours per day for the last 7 days.

It was just two typos in a row.

Coming back to SFU to study today before my 1530 exam, and it's a much worse environment to "study" here than at UBC.

UBC leaves their classrooms open so you and your buddies can take one, use their plugs/desks/tables/projectors.
SFU only has laptop cubicles under images, few random tables dispersed in GROUP study areas which means loud obnoxious people, and the random cubicles dispersed throughout the school don't count either because there's no plugs for laptops plus the constant noise and distraction.
And it's motherfucking cold in the building.

Sigh..

Naw, you just don't know the best study places... ;)

If you're stuck you can always ask a security guard to open up an AQ5XXX room, but those still aren't the best place to study.

Saywell hall classrooms are the best from what i've found but they're limited and usually locked ...

Ikkaku 12-14-2009 01:54 PM

I hate people pushing around those fucking carts in the AQ! Shittiest floors ever.

One night I think it was the crazy AV guy from WMC... he was pushing a projector on a cart near Edu hall, I looked up and hes like "DON'T LOOK AT ME! I DIDN'T INSTALL THESE STUPID FLOORS!" :lol

Haha it's so hilarious when you're in C9001 or or something writing a midterm and then the whole class looks around as you hear ZZZzzzZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzz as someone walks by outside with a cart. :haha:

neggo 12-14-2009 03:44 PM

Sweet, I got the research analyst position for co-op.

Never ended up hearing from the CBSA though...that would've been nice too. Haha...

carsncars 12-14-2009 03:46 PM

Congrats! Man, I'm looking forward to getting a break off school for 4 months... I've done full course load the past 4 terms and it's starting to show in my GPA

neggo 12-14-2009 03:55 PM

^ Thanks!

I kinda know how you feel. I'm in school all year round and have never taken break (though I haven't always taken full course loads). Regardless, this should be something to look forward to.
