So who has appealed enrollment before? I want to get into business; marketing specifically. I'm pretty close to my 60 credits but I have relevant internship experience and worked during my first semester at SFU (currently second semester but transferred from BCIT where I received a diploma). How likely am I to get accepted on the basis of appeal if my gpa doesn't meet the required gpa. Posted via RS Mobile |

You need the required GPA to stay in the program/faculty and if you drop below it, you would be kicked out anyways so you wouldn't even be allowed to enter back until you reached the GPA. |

Do you know anyone who was admitted through appeal or what they look for specifically? Posted via RS Mobile |
I have never heard of anyone being admitted through appeal. Never. If I recall, if you don't have the required GPA they just chuck out your application. I have never heard of this "appeal" thing, and even IF there is such thing, you would have a higher chance of getting in if you know all the professors of the Business faculty in which they recognize your extra-curricular activities and your situation. If not, then tough luck... Edit: found this on sfu site "The admission average for the BBA Program will be the same at both campuses. Please note that students always have the option of appealing unsuccessful admission to the program. Applicants can submit an appeal by detailing unusual circumstances that may have affected their academic performance. These appeals are reviewed by our Admission Appeals Committee." So basically, unless you have some kind of massive event that happened that made your grades go down, its going to be hard.... |
