bus 207 is retarded... :@ A perfectly competitive firm operates in the short-run with labor as its only variable factor. Its production function is: Q = -L3 + 10L2 + 88L where Q is output per week measured in tons and L is the number of workers employed. The weekly wage is $324 and the product sells for $3.24 per ton. (a) At what weekly output is marginal cost equal to average variable cost? (b) What is the minimum product price at which the firm will operate in the short-run? (c) How many workers should the firm employ to maximize profits? (d) Calculate the firm's point elasticity of demand for labor at the equilibrium in (c) above. help anyone? i'm stuck on part A... |

once u get those number just plug and make it equal. you'll get L = 5 and Q = 565 |

MC = W / Marginal Product of Labour AVC = W / Average Product of Labour so its $324 = (324/ -L^2 + 10L +88)... solve for L then plug it into Q (you should get 565) |

damn taking 302,buec333,410 and 342 |
anybody getting kind of annoyed at the kid who keeps asking questions during 301 lecture? |
^Yes, his questions/comments are rather obvious, and just seems like he is trying to suck up. So far I could only get a spot in Econ 305 -_- , and got someone to save me a spot in crim315, hopefully I can get into econ342 by camping. |
anyone wanna reserve bus 336 for me? 1 seat left... ill buy them lunch lol |
if it goes into waitlist, reserving a spot doesnt make a difference, cause it just goes to the 1st person on the list anyway. but if you're taking BUS-336. TAKE IT WITH MICHAEL JOHNSON!!! this guy will make the course SO much easier. ppl in all the other 336 classes bitch about how tough the course is or how hard it is to understand the concepts, but michael johnson makes it actually enjoyable and easy to learn. he even has a game for you for one of the classes. you will never regret taking this course with him. in fact, he'll probably be one of your favorite profs. |
^ ya i forgot bout the waitlist thing shit.... enrollment on 26th and classes i want have little or are closed. gona be a bad sem |
i always just check constantly for spots (even late at night), cause you never know when someone will drop it. sometimes i even wait a week or two into the sem b4 i get what i want. dont worry, there will ALWAYS be people who drop courses. a shit load of ppl just register for courses first b4 they have actually decide what they want to take or whether they're even going to school next sem. you'll get in. |
