he's not really hard. i took 291 with him and pulled off an A. You just need to get use to his trick questions on the first midterm and you're set.

you learn quite a bit from g.dunbar... but you need to work hard to get a good mark

I did well on my business courses. It's just a couple non-business courses that i did mediocre in that are required for admission. I don't really want to explain my situation but i was just wondering if you guys knew anyone that has made a successful appeal. This is because the sfu FAQ said that students can always make an appeal detailing unusual circumstances that affected their academic performance.

according to georgi, he said akbar won't be back for awhile since hes semi-retired? is that true? akbar's awesome i wish he could teach every course lol

I know 5 or 6 people who have tried to appeal courses--2 of them were successful. One because of a death in her immediate family, and another because he became ill (enough to be hospitalized) during the term.

The only reason I've heard of appeals being granted is due to deaths or medical conditions. Apparently "financial duress"--i.e., you have kids and your spouse lost their job so you had to go work full time--is also a reason, but I haven't heard of any appeals based on that, personally.

Anyone know the differences between completely withdrawing and dropping a course?

Completely withdrawing is dropping all your courses from lets say 4 regged classes to 0. I suppose after the 13th, you must keep at least 1 class?

fixed my schedule sorta.... now instead of 8 30 every day, i got 2 evening classes and 3 exams in the span of 24 hours but if some drops out of the fucking 251 day class, its all fixed. Heres to hoping people will drop and i can get in =D

As long as you don't have to switch campuses during the day, it isn't a terrible idea.

Going to three different campuses would drive me crazy though. I enjoy routine.

I cant stay at one campus for a whole semester. It annoys me. Burnaby is such a depressing campus when it rains and during the winter months (so cold)

Anyways, surrey today was good. I like the lecture halls much better =)
