library 7th floor FTW

man i seriously thought some asian kid was stalking me today.. so i was in the MBC at the registars office.. and before it was my turn to get served some asian guy went into that waiting area. he probably had to wait at least 3 more people until he was to be served and after i was done i left to the geography dept for some isolation study.. (its usually deserted after 4pm).. 20 minutes later that asian guy shows up and plays on his computer and shit.. then after that he leaves.. then 10 minutes later he comes back.. but doesnt sit.. he just hovers in the vicinity of the maps and the hall.. then he left.. and comes back again to sit down and go on his comp..

then after a while i stare at him with a kind of "wtf" look.. and he creeps closer.. and hes like.. are you taking org chem? and really curious..

Brown kids at sfu piss me off. There's tons of cool ones but the few douchebags are just annoying.

My friend whose a loss prevention officer was working @ the book store for the first few days while it was really busy. He told me he caught so many gangster wannabe brown kids, and as soon as he grabbed them and took them to the back they started crying/doing a complete 180 in their attitude. Pussies, if you're gonna act hardcore at least do it all the time, not just when it's easy for you.

By the way, if you ever want to steal a book, make sure its under $100 and it's not a criminal offense, you'll just get a warning. And if you do get caught .. don't cry .. but if you do cry it makes the LPO more lenient and sympathetic towards you when he sees the sniveling pile of shit you really are. My friend felt so bad, on a few occasions he swapped the $100+ book the thief actually took and swapped it out for a >$100 book so they would stop crying/being a bitch.

Anyways, if anyone in chem 281/122 wants to study for the upcoming midterms let me know ... I hate studying for chem alone.

I just did chem 121 last semester. One big mistake I made was not doing the loncapa. It's not essential to do good on tests, but man does it effect your mark if you get lazy with it. My biggest regret is not doing all' the loncapa, I lost almost a whole letter grade because of it. Never again will I make that mistake.

And if you go regularly to tutorials you know 80% of people skip (my guesstimate) .. so the TA's are really willing to help you with loncapa and basically spoonfeed you the answers if you go regularly to tutorial.

He's normally an OChem prof but he's actually very good so far. He's very engaging however, he does tend to skip steps.

the course is crazy hard and the prof isn't the best. this is going to take a miracle to get through.

macm 101 and 201 were the shittiest courses I've ever taken, and this is coming from a math/stats/actuarial science guy...

I got Fe(CN)6^4-(aq) + 61Ce^4+(aq) + 258OH^- -> 61Ce(OH)3(s) + Fe(OH)3(s) + 6CO3^2-(aq) + 6NO3^-(aq) + 36H2O(l) but again it is apparently wrong.

^I think you have to add some H+ ions, it's an aqueous solution, IIRC you are allowed to use that. Balance the charges too btw.

I'm assuming you bought the zumdahl textbook, if you did go to page 124.

Professors in 121 can be jackasses and tell you that you have to balance some reactions via oxidization state method and others via half reaction, which is bullshit.

learn the half reaction method on page 124 of your textbook (if you haven't already) and it's fool proof.

Page 124 of your text shows the steps to balancing a reaction in acidic solution, and page 126 shows how to balance in basic.

If you already knew that and did it according to the text and still got it wrong I'm not sure what you did. Possibly an addition/cancelling out error. Good luck!
