I'm aiming for an A- atleast in that class next sem, but that uses up one of my two retries already, having to retry econ 103 would be a pain since requirements state you only need a c- to fulfill the requirements, the rest is up to you to boost your marks to 3.17 so i will have to try much harder in the other classes to make up for it .

Who was your math157 prof? I had Menz and you're in crim101 too right? I think I failed econ103 too with Allen though..

Fucking hell I am going to chew out a professor. I honestly don't care what he can do for my grade, but this idiot has to be dealt with. Anyone have any experience in arguing with a prof? I don't care about the repercussions of my actions pertaining to his class- just don't want to be black listed in the department (of which I need to take a few more courses in).

Okami 12-12-2011 08:20 PM

chew him out for what? i dont think you can do shit even if you have a group of people with you..

epicbeardman 12-12-2011 08:23 PM

Personal matter. I know it won't get shit done- it's just the principle.

Okami 12-12-2011 08:41 PM

unless he molested you.. or shit on your assignment.. i would drop it.. this is how the world works unfortunately.. but get other peoples opinions as well

sfu will side with the prof or the prof will find a way to make you look even worse ;/

I wouldnt redo math just yet, and just work really hard for the rest of the courses. If you DO end up with a C- in 103, consider retaking it. Or else you will have to work extra hard in 105 and buec 232 (both are 4 credit course, and both can boost the gpa if you do well)

Good luck, just dont slack !

noo! im not aiming for a c-. Well, iam , only because im probably getting a little worse than a D right now, and doing superb on the final just isnt going to happen.

I have menz too, she is a good teacher but I didnt really spend much time in that class studying the material. In the end though i actually applied myself for the final and i got much higher than my normal average and ended up passing.

Yeah im in crim 101 too, just had the exam today i feel pretty good about it only studied for a half a day. Yeah econ aint easy, if u fall behind one chapter youre fucked. Learnt that the hard way.

Guess ill be using up my first 2 repeats already in the first semester, will have to try hard as fuck these upcoming two years. So far the only course that fulfills the 9 division courses that i am passing is eng 103w for sure getting over 2.4 atleast

I wouldn't recommend using your repeats right away, wait until the 9 are done, and then decide if you need to use them or not.

i dont think you should even use your repeats until the end because you get so much better every semester. but in his case if he needs to use up so many retakes to just get in then its going to by very hard for him the rest of the way through

I think he should stop taking business courses that count against the total until he can figure out how to get some A's. Cuz he's gonna need a bunch of A's to get into business.

CRS 12-13-2011 08:37 AM

It would helpful to know what the prof did to make you feel this way...

BrRsn 12-13-2011 10:07 AM

really? I found that was the hardest this term. I thought i was on a roll after the first 3-4 mc questions.

What did you do for the 2nd written? I wasn't sure what happened, so I said everything went back to normal :okay::badpokerface:

how is sport econ btw? I need another 200 level econ

The two multiple choice questions regarding the tutorial discussions threw me off, forgot to review that =/

I said it would stay as it was since everyone is operating optimally, however, because credit tightening would end its possible that people would revert back to their old ways and everything return to were it was.

Was your first written question regarding european union? I felt those two questions were very similar.

And current prof for sports econ is f'n garbage, I wouldn't recommend taking it with him. You'll find yourself experiencing migraines after trying to listen to him explain something.

hmm I cant believe I didnt think of that.

Yeah the 2 tutorial questions messed me up too. I just ended up bsing lol. I am just worried, 5marks for mc. Thats brutal.

And yeah I had the EU question as well.

Yeah, I remember him mentioning that. I hope they mark easy lol.

Hmm I was looking at a bunch actually. I cant do anything upper econ until I have one more 200 level econ. So probably the 300 levels by summer - fall. + econ courses are so hard to get.

So far:

Bus 343 and 336
hsci 140 and 150

Was looking at buec 280 (but heard its a bad prof) Maybe 260 if it opens up. Wanted either 342 or 345 - but no way I can get those yet.

you?

The_AK 12-13-2011 07:43 PM

econ 301
maybe 290
bus 312
bus 347 (think thats consumer behaviour)

and maybe another 300 course if something interesting comes my way
