i think i asked you this already but which calc are you in cuz i just hard failed mine. |
I just telepathically messaged strykn ... math 157. Who drives a herra frush white merc 190e with license plate 190 xxx? Euro plate on the back underneath actually plate. Stretched tires and a bit of a poked stance kinda like this but white/silver: http://tuningcars.us/albums/userpics/10001/190e.jpg Spotted you driving down gaglardi today ~4:30, Miring was had. |
hey so basically there was a question to evaluate the limit if it exists on my calc mid, and from the answer key you were suppose to take the conjugate but I figured it out by finding left/right hand limit and the answer was the same, but based on my mark I think they gave me a 0 for that, obviously I won't know for sure until I can actually get my paper back on Friday, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if they remarked it or are you shit out of luck for not doing it their way. |

It's upto you whether you think its worth it or not .. if you're trying to get an A in the class, just make sure you got ~20% better than class average and just try your hardest to get an A on your second midterm (its much easier, for me it was anyways). |

as a student, i've had my marks bumped up so many times by doing this. once, i went from 72% to 83% on a midterm after explaining to my prof how i arrived at my answers. it doesn't always work (some profs will only do remarks), but you got nothing to lose. as a TA, it can take a lot of time to mark exams. there are times where i've misread something or skipped over it entirely. it's boring and repetitive. most TAs just compare your answer to the answer key to speed things up. so if what you have down doesn't resemble the answer key, they may not bother trying to work things out the way you did it. |
thanks for the advice guys, I'll have to wait until friday to check how they actually docked my marks so I guess I'll assess whether or not its worth it to get a remark or maybe it was just my own errors lol and I don't even have some major conspiracy working against me :fuckthatshit: |

Your midterm was 15% ... it isn't going to mean shit after the final. I studied a good 20 hours for my first calc midterm and I ended up with ~70% ... was I happy? Fuck no. Second midterm I got ~90%, raped the final, and ended up with a solid mark. Second midterm is also much easier btw, its all chain rule (you'll know what I mean once you get there). Don't worry, I found the final material/MT2 material much easier than MT1. It's pretty easy to get discouraged in math/science courses (which is IMO why a lot of people drop out). Positive attitude --> Positive results |
got 29/35 on my 157 mt :fullofwin: |
i hate you guys. |
yeah I think I'm more mad at myself, the midterm in my opinion wasn't that hard when I saw the key the 1 Q I know I got completely wrong was just me actually reading 4x^2-8x as 4x^2+8x for the limit lol. It just sucks balls, when you know you basically lost like a letter grade or 2 due to a dumb mistake like that which of course is 100% avoidable and my fault for not double checking the question. |
