November 7th Bus Routes on to Campus

Buses have altered their route on and off Burnaby campus and are only using University Drive. There are three stops and pick up locations on the north side of campus: University Drive at the entrance to “C” lot; University Drive north of the Transportation Centre Bus Loop; and at the Student Residences

Free parking at West Mall Parkade. Not sure about other lots.

Yay I didn't had to pay today. However, the east side visitor parking was blocked by picketers. Some were aggressive to towards other trying to park there. No picketers in G lot or overflow.

They blocked off all entrance to the Cornerstone parking lots, except for the alley that leads to the top lot. :awwyeah:

The audacity of some of these strikers -- Wouldn't let me into convo mall parkade. Asked me repeatedly "Are you sure you want to cross the picket line?". To which I respond "YES, I'm late for class". And she tells me "In support of CUPE you should park at G-lot"


yeah .. I'm really gonna go pay money to park in G-lot :facepalm: I already pay enough for school IDGAF if parking at G-lot was even free .. I have a parking pass for convenience and I'm parking where I damn well please. Goddamn. They need to understand, I really don't care what their cause is. I just wanna go to my classes, do good, leave. Oh, and I'm in sciences so most of my prof's are like "TA-s are on strike, looks like the exams scantron" -- hah!

Seriously though, you're blocking the parking lots when people are in a hurry. You've already disrupted regular public transportation. The students are not going to be like 'okay, I'll just park down the mountain and bus my way up again. Thank goodness I'll only be 45 minutes late for class now'.

This is the shit that makes me want to go ape shit on TSSU/CUPE.

On a side note, it's totally fucked up how they try to use students to push their cause at the risk of the student's grades. Don't get me wrong, I see the purpose of TAs and their usefulness in some courses however to go and say shit like "everyone can go home today, you don't have to go to school before of the strike" is complete buffoon.

I had one of them tell me that I didn't have to write an exam because I would be crossing the picket line. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? I spent my weekend studying for this exam and now you want me to postpone it?

At first, I was on the side of the TSSU/CUPE but now with their retarded representation and jeopardizing my grade, I hope the administration really sticks it to them.

One of my teachers is part of the TSSU yet totally against it, bashes the strike/union etc.
