no idea wtf #2 is either. I'm leaning towards the transportation cost example where they use Xij....

are you at TA :suspicious:

Fcukedd 11-19-2012 10:45 PM

Missed my entrance scholarship by less than a percent, and it's now biting me in the ass. All the courses necessary to transfer out of engineering is filling up by the hour....fuck my life. Enrollment date is on Wednesday too :okay: :okay: :okay: :okay:

bluejays 11-19-2012 10:50 PM

Picketing RBC on tuesday and electronic picket thursday, they've really got sfu by the balls now :fuckthatshit:

You sure can. You're going to have to take Math 100 if you don't have the prereqs for Math 150 or 151. Alternatively, you can take the Calculus Readiness test and if you score high enough you could take Math 150/151 without taking Math 100.
Though I'm not too sure what the required courses are for an internal transfer into science.

You also have the choice to take Math 154, which is a lot easier than 150/151. I must say the prof for 151 (Brenda Davison) is really good though.

Or BUEC 232 with Bernard Maronney?

I took 100W with Heide in the spring. Not sure if it changed, but we had 2 essays worth about 20-25% each and the rest are midterms and exams. Class average for the tests were about 4X% since the tests were like multiple multiple choice, but keep in mind the class is curved. The essays are easy if you listen to what he says, I listened to the lecture notes, wrote it down, TA gave an A+.

Thanks. Ya I guess they changed it up a bit. No more midterm. 6 short assignments, 3 papers and a final :(.

Stuck between Philxx1, 100, or Eng 104 or something.

mwoo 11-20-2012 01:14 AM

154 is not easier than 151 lol. 151's engineering maths.

buffon 11-20-2012 08:17 AM

Are the tests for PSYC 100 all MC? Anyone take that course before with Russell Day?

Also is Buec 232 and Bus 207 too much for 1 term?

yup. Be aware though that you might need at least a B+ in order for it to count as an alternative to math 150/151. Whether or not he can get at least a B+ or not is entirely up to him.

Yea, the reason I needed to take 150 and next term 152. Would have loved to have taken 155 and 158, but I won't risk it with the B+ req.

Anyone have experience with KIN 142 (Intro to Kinesiology)?

There's about 100 seats reserved for KIN majors, with 30 on the wait list. Is it generally a popular course where most seats will be filled up?

Another question..

I looked at a lab time for BISC100 and there were 2 seats available last night. I checked this morning and the listing for that lab is completely gone (even with a possible wait list capacity of 5). So then I had my friend enroll in the course with another lab time to save me a spot in case. Question is...if it does reach its capacity, and my friend drops out...will I see the listing again?

EDIT: Disregard the second question...didn't realize I had "show open classes" checked off :lawl:

Sorry for all the nub questions lulz I tried emailing SFU but they take years to reply

Is that one of the 5 courses to take for internal transfer into kin? I hear it's not that hard but mostly memorizing.. kinda like bio

Fcukedd 11-20-2012 04:56 PM

Yeah it is!

I'm just curious about the possibility of being enrolled in the course because there's 30 people on the wait list (and 100 seats still available).

mwoo 11-20-2012 05:25 PM

100 seats available? your chances are about tree fiddy

fs604 11-20-2012 06:04 PM

15 spots left for cmpt 165 and my registration is 3:30tmr. can anybody predict my chances? :okay:

bluejays 11-20-2012 06:10 PM

^ I can try holding it for you if you're interested

Purely 11-20-2012 06:27 PM

cmpt165 with Anne Lavergne or online with Fred Popowich
or Kin140 online with Stephen Brown for science credit?

you've got a decent chance of getting in, cross your fingers. kin is a popular major within the sciences, and a lot of people try to internally transfer. I would probably take Chem/math/physics in your first two semesters first, since those are the harder of the 5 courses that'll determine most of your gpa in the transfer.

I took psyc 102 with Day this sem, and he has 3 midterms and multiple quizes. 2/3 midterms count, where he omits the worst mark and 1 quiz is omitted out of your worst marks as well. He has 30 MC on his midterms with 2 essay-like questions to answer.
