Identifying: I'm the tall-ish Asian guy at the gym who incline benches the 100 lbs DBs for reps, flat benches the 110lbs for reps, max bench 3 plates, deadlift 4 plates for reps, does muscle ups to show off, cocky stare and a great ass. | It doesn't matter how much you lift, what matters is how much you look like you can lift. Besides, if you are doing low reps like below 8 with bad form, it's not impressive. I respect ppl who lift with good form and minimal rest times between sets (a min max). Ya I lift with 15-25 Ibs dummbells, but idgaf. As long as you are making gains, it's good. No offense.

We all go to the gym for self improvement, it's not really a contest to see who lifts more than the other guy
But in the end, persistence pays off and one can get huuugeeee

After that he was doing shoulder press and had a difficult time doing 20lb dumbbells
It's important to have good form, not only to get the most out of your work out but to make sure you don't hurt yourself or others while working out. I see tons of people lifting and working out with tons of weights and aren't even doing it properly

Just reminds me to be even more careful when working out. Warm up properly, progressively move onto the moderate or heavy weight. When you are using tons of weight with bad form, injury is gonna happen sooner or later. Trust me you don't wanna limp from one class to another. If you hurt yourself, no more gains while you are recovering. But if you are careful and going to gym consistently, gains everyday. Take it easy is what I have learned from my two recent injuries. When you injure yourself, you want to kick yourself in the groin, and wished that you had gone easier with the weights.

No disrespect, but having a nice body but is a fucking wimp is nothing impressive.
That being said, lifting heavy weights with shitty and half-assed reps is nothing to boast about either.
Personally, I can't see myself having respect for huge guys benching a pussy 185lb or squatting 225lb

The set up there makes me appreciate what SFU has, even though its busy.

Ya like you said, we have all different goals. But I guess you have both strength and physique. Still what's important is getting a good pump, a good muscle contraction. That's what makes you grow. If you are pushing very heavy weight, you are not only using the muscles that is supposed to be working, but also the joint and other muscles. For example: hip drive during heavy bench.
If u don't mind, How tall are u and how much u weigh? what's your favorite upper back exercise?

Yes definitely if your goal is to build muscle, muscle contraction and mind-muscle connection is a huge factor.
When pushing heavy weights, it's essential for other muscle groups to come into play. For example, during a set of heavy bench, lats, traps, legs and even your brachialis is used. But that doesn't mean I will arch the shit out of my back, or lift my butt off the bench to get the weight up. Form is still important.
Appreciate the compliment! I'm actually a tiny guy lol 5'6-5'7ish, just under 160lb. I don't really have a favourite exercise, but I've seen good progress doing upright rows (with an EZ bar or a plate) and heavy rack pulls in my upper back.
All in all, whether you're focusing on hypertrophy or strength, you'll see results in both sides of the spectrum.

If you're really cocky about what weight you can do, you're doing something wrong. It's supposed to be a humbling experience, not something that you're supposed to throw around. Posted via RS Mobile |

If someone or homeless see something valuable, they will break the lock or the window of your car. Especially don't keep visible food or water in your car, apparently your cars' windows can get smashed lol I'm getting off-topic
