Half the class is asleep, the other half on their phones, and I'm in the nsfw section...

I really need some advice regarding Co-op ?

I asked this a while ago, but I want to see if my improvements will be suffice to land a co-op position.

What are my chances of getting a Co-op position ?

So this is my profile so far :

Cgpa: 2.86 ( Will go up to 2.9 or above after this semester )
GPA of all business classes = 3.13
Upper division business gpa = 3.03

Jobs:
Held 2 seasonal 4 month positions.
private tutoring for 8 months
Now Currently looking for a job

Volunteer:
Currently applying for office administration position

So this is my profile so far.

Sfu has this stupid minimum 3 work term requirement for business co op which means that if I don't find any position, I will never graduate or I will be in school until I am 25 until I land 3 co op positions.

Should I just finish my courses and graduate or is there a chance that I land a position. I have only 9 courses left so that's approx 2 semesters worth.

Co-op advisors are useless and only tell me to apply. I asked them the same question and all they said is that it depends on the employers. WTF.

Please be brutally honest.

Just apply dude. They're right. Your chances of getting hired depends on the employer.

I'll be brutally honest and say you're being dumb for not listening to your advisors and asking strangers online how to deal with your major. Why have you not applied yet

Parking all day is anywhere from $3.50 (before 8am in the crappy lots) upto $13

Add in food/gas -- attending school can be pretty damn expensive.

I'm in second year and looking to apply now. I missed the info session, but the very worst if you were only able to find one position, can't you just rage quit co-op after? It just doesn't show you completed co-op, but you can still list the firm you worked for on your resume?

Btw, what is your major?

You can still graduate even if you don't do 3 coop terms. You just won't get a coop certificate. If you do 4 coop terms, then you get a notation on your transcript. Other than that...doesn't really matter if you do 1, 2 or 3 or none at all. It's just for experience.

"Undergraduate students are admitted to the Co-op program with the understanding that they will complete at least three work terms. If, for whatever reason, a student does not complete three or four work terms, this will not impede graduation. There will be no notation on the transcript that they “dropped” Co-op."

^ yeah. If you go to the lot beside G lot at 8am, you can park at school all day for $3.5. I don't know how far you guys live from SFU. But assuming it is within 15-20km counting both way, gas should be ranging from $5-10 for the 4 cylinder should be around $5 for v6 max at $10. Don't know if you drive a V8 or v12, then money isn't an issue. So that gives us $13.5 for the day maximum. If I were to park for $10 or more in other lots, I wouldn't even consider driving, big effing rip-off. And for food, you could make your own sandwichs or bring your own food.
