Anyone here took Bus 316, 315, or any 400 level finance courses ?
How difficult are those courses ? Are the exams/quizzes based on the assignments/samples or are these courses ones in which you have to " think outside the box".
By that I mean are the questions similar to the assignments/samples except that there is a twist in which you have never actually done before.
I am only interested in Finance or MIS. I need advice about these finance courses before I commit to this concentration and finish my degree.
You might want to take 315 or 316 before declaring. The only reason why i say that is because Im in the same position as you. Been committed to doing finance/banking since HS. And now I regret not getting into accounting.
just watched a 30-40 minute autopsy in class...interesting how they just butcher the body like that...

What is the ticket price if you do end up being ticketed? Is it under 30 if you pay within 72hrs?
Diana said she doesn't scale..neither does my macm, unlike other profs. Unlucky me.
My 150 mt was 30 marks that had two 12 mark questions. Didn't know how to do
one of them.. A bunch of people thought that question was hard so I hope a lot of people fail huehue
Did almost all the textbook questions but she put that question which only came up in an assignment with solutions posted the day before..
would bet my family jewels I failed. Girl sitting in front of me said she got everything right so fuck.
how was your mt? Posted via RS Mobile
Yeah, my midterm was out of 30 as well. Just got it back today, got the average which was 66%. I did only a couple textbook questions but mainly studied off my lecture notes, going to start slowly reviewing for 150 since I wanna ace the final

My mark'll still be pretty bad even if i get 100 on the final
so much harder than macm imo

So how does it usually work. You get at least 2 hrs after you get your tires chalked? Of course you don't really know when you got them chalked unless you are stalking your own car.
Definitely one of the harder lower-division courses in bus. I took it last semester with Masood, and found his lectures pretty boring/not that useful.
You have to do assignments (there's answer key provided), because there is a random chance that the TA will pick you to present (worth 5% you can present as many times as you want, TA will pick highest mark). Each class 2~ people will present, and the TA will present another problem himself.
From my experience, the midterm was really difficult (you really needed to understand the concepts, and be able to apply it), and there wasn't enough time. The final isn't much easier, but I found it to be more fair (the type of questions he asked/and we were given more time).
I ended up getting a B/B+, but this course is definitely harder than bus251.
Thanks. So does he have those online assignments(wiley plus) for marks like in BUS 251?

No assignments.
Iirc.... 40% midterm, 10% presentation in tutorial and attendance (easy presentation... 5-10mins, no need to dress up. Essentially you are provided the answer key for a question and you just guide the class through the question by highlighting areas that are tricky and also relating it back to the real world and how managers can use this information, etc....)\, 50% final (cumulative). Midterm will be multiple choice with 3-4 written quantitative questions and 1-2 written qualitative questions.

This is ridiculous. It is definitely unreasonable to make students stand for an entire lecture. Especially because some people cannot stand for that long, and now they are going to be alienated from this "no-sitting" movement. What is SFU going to do for the health of these people? I think all that is going through a student's mind as he or she is standing during a lecture is how uncomfortable it is to stand that long, and how frustrating it is to take notes. There is now way that people are going to pay more attention by standing for hours. Is there any proof to back this up? If SFU is actually serious about getting their students healthy then they should look at the food that they are serving on campus. Perhaps, they should completely overhall the dining experience and putting more money into athletics. Maybe give some kind of incentive for people to use the gym or join a sports team? This whole thing feels like a big PR stunt to get the school some publicity and money.
