Generally speaking, we kind of know ahead of time which tutorials will have the highest grades or highest averages. The tutorial times that are closest to the lecture times will be filled up first, and scholarship students are usually the ones that take these spots (they have earlier registration dates). The tutorial times that are very late, or even on a different day than the lecture will have the lowest grades. The difference from my semesters of teaching, is that the tutorials that have better timeslots will get anywhere from 5-10% above class average while the late or bad timeslot tutorials can be anywhere from 5-15% below class average. To a certain degree, higher grades results in higher TA evaluation, and vice versa. Also, there's always students that don't like you and give you the lowest possible rating in every category, even when it is completely untrue. I've gotten evaluations that I was always late to my 2nd tutorial, which is impossible, since I don't leave the class in between tutorials.
Talked to several TA's about this and this is relatively true. We looked at around 6-8 semesters and so far it has been accurate.
