We can't help those who won't even help themselves.

Seriously. You're not doing anything to address the issue except for posting on RS. Talk to an advisor and get some good direct information.

Thats not the struggle I meant -_-. I meant people hating on us for being in arts. As for the grades issue, I made a full weekly scheducle, gonna try to stick to it and if that doesnt work, gonna see an academic advisor

Kay, not taking BUS 381 anymore. Don't want class on Fridays. Probably taking BUS 347 instead.

There are better courses than BPK 110 lol. It's not bad but when I took it it had a lot of work and each chapter is like 40-50 pages.

Also, what concentration is 473 for?

Who are you taking 393 with? Shafik Bhalloo or Robert Adamson?

BPK110 with Diana Deboya or GEOG111 with Faran Ali?

Never took BPK 110 with Diana but I've heard she's a really good prof.

If I were you, I'd take something useful like BPK over Geog....but this is coming from a BPK student.

I've never taken GEOG 111, but I am a fourth year Geography major who has taken courses with Ali. I would say knowing basic earth systems is just as useful as nutrition, most people interact with both subjects on a daily basis.

The man knows his stuff and has tonne of industry experience, he's is also quite generous with grading and is very accommodating. For example, even in Upper Div. courses he will give people the chance to hand in labs they skipped many weeks after they were due just because he believes it is to their benefit.

BrRsn 11-14-2014 06:45 PM

Diana as a prof? Ehhhh .. mostly just reading slides. Unfortunately she changed her topics a bit, most of the new stuff comes from the textbook which, surprise surprise, she wrote. So you'll have to buy the textbook, because she wants to cash in on her position as a prof

If you want an easy class you can get a high mark in ... it's basically grade 12 bio + 3 large assignments, all of which is very easy. CRS is in it right now, and apparently destroying it

TheGreatLeader 11-14-2014 06:48 PM

Anyone at SFU right now?

Quick question, is the 24/7 dining hall open for all sfu students, or only residence students?

BrRsn 11-14-2014 06:50 PM

all students, but if you haven't been before just let the cashier know you have all your shots and immunizations -- if you don't live on res, they require proof that you're immunized to prevent a disease being transmitted to everyone on res (since everyone eats there) ... I've been OK by just letting them know right when I pay

TheGreatLeader 11-14-2014 07:29 PM

Thanks, I've always wanted to go, but didn't wanna go all the way there and get turned down lol.

I took Geog 111 with Faran Ali. I ended up with an A. It's a very easy and straightforward class. It's pretty practical in its use too.

+1 for Faran Ali

Haven't taken 111, but took 102 with him before. He's a great prof, knows his stuff, and is very nice. Exams were all fair.

Shayan4440 11-15-2014 10:35 AM

I'm 6th on the waitlist for Bus 360. What are the odds that I will get in?

PandaDog 11-15-2014 11:29 AM

I took Geog111 last semester.

I got an A-, and I recall going to lectures less than half the time.
Didn't even have to crack open the textbook - most of the information presented in his lecture notes are all that you need.

You will get in. They always open up 5-10 spots for 360 after the original 30 and lots of people drop anyway.
