Anybody here ever took a course in the Surrey campus and the Burnaby campus that were an hour apart? Is such a schedule feasible by transit?

areyounoob 12-13-2014 12:45 AM

I usually got to the Surrey campus within 45 minutes from the Burnaby campus but that was in the Summer and Fall semesters. I have no idea how much longer the skytrain will take to commute between campuses on a snowy day. Good luck!

Even if time wasn't a factor, needing to make that trip for however many days a week seems like a disaster.

Woooo officially done my undergrad!

Now to re-take classes or not :considered:

Does Dave Cox use the curve or scale in econ 105?

I just bombed econ 103 this semester lol went from an A- to B after the final. I need an A- at least to keep me nice and comfy for when i apply to beedie

xXSupa 12-14-2014 11:46 PM

All econ/business courses are curved. Except BUS360W.

360s not curved? Then what's the grading scheme for it? I'm taking it with Chantal Gibson next term.

xXSupa 12-16-2014 01:46 AM

There isn't a marking scheme. Most of it is subjective. Assignments are returned with a letter grade as opposed to a percentage.

I didn't take it with Chantal, but two pieces of advice that I have (I'm sure applies to every prof) are:
- Start revisions EARLY. SUPER EARLY. ASAP. Office hours get really plugged up in the second half of the course, and getting a 5 minute meeting is difficult.
- Read assignment/portfolio guidelines CAREFULLY. Read EVERY word. Twice. You will be ducked marks for the smallest things you miss.

BPK is taking forever to release their grades. It was the first exam I had taken and I have received all my grades back except for that course.

I just received my grades for this semester and I have a high enough gpa to internal transfer into beedie. The bus 202 class I want to get into is almost full, and Beedie emailed me at the end of november saying they will let me know If I get in on Jan 6 as they are waiting for my grades for this semester. Since I already got my grades I was just wondering if I should email them and let them know, as I want to get into beedie ASAP so I can get into the bus 202 class because it is almost full. Or should I just wait until Jan 6 if they review all applicants at the same time?

If you're application is approved and you're admitted into Beedie, they will enroll you in BUS 202 regardless of the class spots. It's a mandatory course for new faculty entrants so don't worry.

GPA changes so the average may be higher or lower depending on how the GPA of those who applied are. Previous beedie admission averages don't have any effect on the new term (I think at least)

but it seems to be a downward fall in GPA so you should be good lol

I got my acceptance a few days after the deadline for grades back when I applied in the summer. I believe today was the deadline for final grades so you should get your results any day now.

CMPT 363 (should be user interface design) is an incredibly easy course.
