Attending a friends grad tomorrow, is parking free on convocation day? How hectic will finding parking be?

Shayan4440 06-10-2015 12:26 PM

Not sure whether it will be free or not, but the parking will be packed. A lot of people will have to park in the lower lots.

In that case, you might need more than 55 gallons

Shayan4440 06-15-2015 04:45 PM

I'm in Karen's 343 too lol.

The TA said her lectures aren't based on the textbook so there's a lot of variation in lecture material versus textbook material. I would probably focus on the textbook more, however.

Has anyone here taken CMPT477? If so, could you give me a PM. Please and thanks!

Shayan4440 06-22-2015 04:01 PM

So what did you guys think of the 343 midterm?

Cwift 06-22-2015 10:46 PM

I was flying through the questions then it progressively got harder lol. Otherwise it was pretty fair, but some questions were pretty hard.

Shayan4440 06-22-2015 11:34 PM

Overall I thought it was pretty easy. There were some tricky questions that I wasn't sure about, but given how much time we had to write the exam and the relative difficulty of it, I thought it was on the easier side.

Has anyone had experience with transferring to SFU from Langara, or a different college?

I'm planning to transfer into the BA program in another year or two. Is there a minimum required GPA I must maintain?

v_tec 06-23-2015 01:22 AM

^ Just stay at Langara. Beedie is so overrated :fuckthatshit:

Cwift 06-23-2015 02:29 AM

Yeah, it's not. You get the grade you deserve. Scaling a class of 40ish people would be ridiculous. They are several grade adjustments they make throughout the term though. For example, if you get at least 3 letter grades higher on submission 2 than submission 1, submission 1 gets bumped 1 letter grade. They do this for every assignment.
