Be happy. Class average is a B and the courses are generally more interesting.

Probably a long shot here but does anyone have math 100 midterms from previous years? I'm currently tutoring and am looking for examples.

Need it by tonight. Please PM me!

just visited SFU a few times this past week. My god, what a depressing university.... been to langara and UBC before and SFU feels... just different!

Idk if its just me but it feels like a high school jail or something idk, doesnt feel very connected this school. Langara looks nicer as well imo

Although very rare, they have been known to check the lots after 7 pm. I saw them handing out tickets at 7:30pm once, and one of my friends also got a ticket time stamped 11:40pm...

What courses have you guys found fun, interesting or useful? I don't know what to take :(

areyounoob 11-28-2015 07:52 AM

FPA 140 was pretty interesting. It's all online. You listen to compositions by various composers, and write up what you hear and try to link the elements of the composition to historical events.

WL 100 was also fun. A lot of reading, but I really enjoyed the texts that we had to read.

I took it with Matthew White, his lectures were super dry. Final exam average was 52%.
Managed to pull off a 57% on the final without studying since it was on the very last day of exams and I had my bpk 241 exam right before hand which interested me way more.

Sorry, not sure why I missed out the #, it's actually BPK 140.

With Anne-Kristina Arnold. Distance Ed.

Never had Anne-Kristina Arnold as a prof, but I took 140 with Stephen Brown Distance Ed. as well and it was the easiest course ever.

He had weekly quizzes that were 5 questions each and you and 5 minutes to complete them. And for all his exams he literally reused the quiz questions word for word without even changing the order of the answers for the multiple choice portion.

And the written portion of his exams were all questions requiring you to list out a certain number of things (I.e. name 6 of the 10 ways to transmit diseases through physical contact).

Overall I would say the course is easy, but it does require a lot of memorization like any other BPK course.
