Anyone take BPK312 with Matthew White before?

Are the lecture slides sufficient for the exams, or were questions pulled out of the textbook as well?

Cr33pUh 02-18-2016 04:19 PM

Has anyone tried the new burger joint (Big Smoke Burgers) that opened up at Cornerstone?

Also heard they might open up an A&W too!

Galactic_Phantom 02-18-2016 06:31 PM

Fries are bunk. I think I had one that was undercooked

Burger's are okay. Actually grilled which is good. Haven't tried the other meats yet

Cwift 02-18-2016 07:12 PM

Does anyone know if the AQ ever locks its doors, and if it does, what time they re-open?

I'm heading up to school early tomorrow, probably around 5:30 AM to 6 AM. Just hoping that it would be open, otherwise it's going to be a pretty cold morning :okay:

Never closes considering students on res need to walk through AQ to get places at certain times.

Anyone taken LBST 101 with Gary Teeple for distance ed?

How's the written essay on the midterm like? Brutal?

You'll be fine.

I've been up as early at 4AM and it has never been an issue.

Any suggestions for upper div elective or science courses that are 4 credits?

Any thoughts on the following course load for the summer?
CMPT 373: Fraser
CMPT 376W: Baker
CMPT 454: Edgar
CMPT 475: unknown for now...

Might switch 475 with 471 (Regan) or 477 (Ternovska; also intersession). Any input is appreciated.

For those who finished their undergrad (or soon to be), out of curiosity, how long did it take you?

5 years + 1 semester.

It's pretty common to graduate > 5 years at SFU especially if you do coop and take time off. The only way you can graduate at SFU in 4 years is 1) Scholarship 2)Get really good grades 3)Lucky

Start: Sep 2008
Finished: 2013 April

Took exactly 5 years, but aside from 1 summer course during 2012, I've always had summers off, and I took 1 additional semester (Fall 2011) off as I was on co-op. I did take 1 or 2 evening courses during that co-op semester.
Almost every semester from 1st to the end of 3rd year I took 5 courses. Slowed it down for my last year and a half.

Take your time though... do co-op, exchange and get involved. Work sucks!

Had anyone taken Bus 478 with Edward Bukszar? if so how difficult was he/ would you recommend him?

Fcukedd 03-13-2016 12:15 AM

Turns out I need another B-hum & B-soc, so I'm looking for a course that kills 2 birds with 1 stone.

Has anyone taken COGS 100 or 110? Both these courses fulfill the requirements, but I have no clue how these courses are (science major here).

What about IAT 210 (Games Studies)?

Anyone else have recommendations? I prefer the easiest courses possible lol

areyounoob 03-13-2016 07:17 PM

I don't think you can use one course to fulfill both a B-HUM and B-SOC credit.

For a B-HUM I took FPA 140. You basically listen to music by various composers and describe what you hear. Really fun and easy course. Every assignment is a paper with around 5-6 paragraphs for each composition. The journal was 10 pages, paper was 7 pages. I loved that it was online.

I'm sure there are easier courses though.

Anyone have a preference for a BUS 360 prof? Looks like Eric Tung got filled up first day of enrollment

Cwift 03-13-2016 09:43 PM

^ as long as you don't get a super hard marking TA i don't think prof really matters

Nope, prof does matter. The TA's mark according to how the profs want, and from my experience, the profs do look over everything and remark parts as needed.

I was trying to get in that course too :okay:
Just curious, what other bus courses do you plan on taking for summer? haha

AuStar 03-14-2016 12:39 PM

Any of you guys know of a site that lets you plan your schedule out? It has a list of all the courses offered for the semester you choose and it even has all the tutorial sections included as well. In the end it generates a timetable for you.

I used it last semester to plan everything out but now I can't seem to remember it or even find it after searching on google. I'm pretty sure it's not off of the actual SFU site either.
