I don't know which prof you have. Again, profs are not required to take any teaching certifications/courses. However, they should have extensive experience dealing with other students/people through teaching/defense/marketing their thesis/etc.
Who do you have and what course is it? maybe she is new to Canada... everyone has their own story.
I totally agree that some people should not teach and just stick to research.

Speaking of bunnies, I saw a really tall blonde haired asian girl dressed as a bunny. She was atleast 6'1 with heels...not something I see everyday (tall asian girl). Sorry, just had to put that out there...caught my attention...
