from their website about the app features
Counts the IP traffic on GSM/GPRS/EDGE network in byte.
so if you have 3g, this isn't going to be accurate.

You definitely have to get the person who bought it to unhook it.

Anyone regret going for the BB Bold - I have the Javelin 8900 too and I have to say the screen is a bit sharper (albeit)smaller, better battery life, faster EDGE and much better camera. I still have the Bold and the extra wide screen makes it hard to decide which one to sell...
Traveling less for business now makes me wonder if Ill get much mileage off tethering Javelin vs Bold - sending email-MSN-ing isn't huge deal breaker anyhow

i regretted switching from bold to javelin lol. it was defintely more pocketable, but the smaller screen, worse sound quality just didnt cut it for me. the diff in screen quality isnt that noticable anyhow. id sell the javelin cuz theres a new 3g version of it coming out pretty soon.

not at all regretting my bold. Yeah it's a bit bulky, but it first so much better in my hand than all the other slim-width phones have. Texting no longer crunches up my hand(s), and the multifunctionality is epic.
I have an iPod touch and one of the reasons I shyed away from the iPhone was because of the lack of tactile interactions. Egads this thing is awesome. Plus I can go all patriotic when my students ask me why I didn't buy a KDM/JDM phone.

No I think the Bold is still the best Blackberry.
Nothing is really better on the curve except the camera.
The build quality is obviously worse on the 8900. The Bold's battery life isn't that bad either, of course you would have to expect differences between 3G power usage versus 2G.
But ultimately, bad camera? Well that can be resolved by an actual camera.
But no 3G? You can't resolve that.

additionally he has to disassociate the bold from rogers by calling in.
he will have to call in, otherwise rogers may suspect that you stole the phone off a guy.

Hmm, my girlfriend bought a Curve 8900 from Phonemore and it won't let her register on it on Fido BIS...
Should I tell Phonemore to call in? Not too sure what to do...

i assume she has BB data plan with Fido?
if so,
options > advanced options > host routing table > bb button > register now.

Lol, probably because they leave space to sell a Bold with upgraded features for an even higher pricetag!

Nevermind
For those of you lost like me use the Desktop Manager - Add/Remove application - unzip the Berryannoying (or typical AIX/COD files into folder) and add it that way. I'm far too used to drag/drop SE phones http://www.bbgeeks.com/blackberry-gu...ckberry-88400/ |

Anyone tried Tethering?
I'm tempted by some light browsing and MSNing when wireless isn't available, but I'm worried about additional data charges or going over my limit.
I seem to remember Rogers saying they'll send you a text when you're at 80% of your data limit, but I'm worried about extra charges or going over.

Hey Graeme I just did tethering speed test last evening b/w Javelin vs Bold. I have 500MB and have rarely gone over 200MB as BB tends to optimize data trsf - not sure when you use it as modem how fast it goes over. I am under impression there's a limit you can only go over by so much though.
If you're curious about speed wise:
Download 3G averaged to about - 1.6mb/sec vs 0.6 mb/sec on 8900 Javelin (For comparison sake - Shaw Extreme (approx) 16mb/sec)
Upload is 0.5mb/sec on 3G Bold and 0.2-0.3 on Javelin EDGE
Both quite tolerable and still better than nothing when you're on the road...decent alternative to $50 USB-Internet-Stick!
