i called and compared it to my $22 bell corprate plan which had unimited browsing, unlimited weekends and evenings starting at 6pm, unlimited texting... etc etc so they gave me this plan and i was happy haha

need help.
i currently have just the voice plan and am looking into getting data.

i want to get the smartphone on ebay or something like that, will it still work with fido's data plan? or do i have to buy a phone from fido to use their data plan. thanks

^ You just have to get NA 3G band frequencies or it will just run on edge.

How does HUP work? Do we have to trade in our previous phone that we the signed the contract for?

Realized today that on our family plan each line comes out to about $45. Considering everyone on the plan is a light user 3 of the lines could probably be on a less than $30 retention plan. Is it possible to go through retentions and break a 4 line family plan into 4 separate plans? D:

The retention rep will just process your retention contract with the iPhone like normal.
But not sure if they still have any instock. so you might have to wait like couple weeks or months.

You will be able to break the lines up into 4 separate lines if your contract is expiring or has already expired. I used to be on the fido couples plan, and after the 2 year contract, I broke them up into 2 lines no problem.

Fido offered me retention plan today:

200 daytime minutes
evenings starting at 5pm
Caller ID
Voicemail
Call waiting
2500 Text Messages

30.80 after tax.

How do i even talk them down even more? I mean this is better than what I had before paying 45 dollars for basically the same thing.

ask them is there any other plans and you still think it is too expensive

the plan they offer you isn't that great in my opinion
if it has unlimited calling evening and weekends, fido 2 fido and/or unlimited incoming with all those call display, 2500 text for 25 dollars + tax then it's a good deal

Google "Bell UBC Student plan" and tell them of this plan. Fido has a retention plan very similar to this but has 200 daytime minutes instead of 250. They should use this plan to match the bell plan for you.

Called retentions again yesterday on the day of the iPhone 4 launch to HUP. Signed a 3 year contract again and made some changes to my plan:

$17.50 200 daytime, unlimited evenings at 5pm, unlimited weekends
$10 Value pack: 2500 SMS, Call display, Voicemail
-$10 Credit: Value pack for 3 years
$30 6GB iPhone data plan

$17.50+$30.00+HST.
Also got the iPhone 4 16GB for $159+HST-Fido Dollars.
