FINALLY got the chance to fix up my parents contracts. I called into cancel for them and said they sent me to retentions and I told them I was offered

Then, I was offered for both numbers

The rep first gave me the above for 25$ before tax, where he credited the CID for 7$ but then I told him I'm looking for the cheapest option. I kept asking for the cheaper option and told him I didn't use the phones a lot (told him to check usage) but he told me you couldn't renew unless your contract was above 20$. My parents wanted new phones so I used their fido dollars, so the phones are pretty much free. I could of haggled for the 17.50$ only if I didn't wanna renew. I'm pretty happy with the plans I guess. Too bad none of my parents text... my dad used 60 mins including weekends / evenings last month LOL

My next step is HUPing my phone to the iPhone 4 in 6 months.. is there less leway when bargaining for a HUP cause my plan sucks nuts right now? if it matters I don't have data on my phone right now. Or would it be a more viable option bargaining after my contract ends in 1 year?

Push for Hide625's plan. That's what seems to be the norm.

as for your mom/dad, shouldn't it be $17.50 for that plan you listed?

Rep told me the plan has to be over 20$ to renew, cause my parents wanted phones.

Hmm...I just called today and they couldn't do anything for me since the iPhone 4 is out of stock :( I need them to fix up my plan too = =

Yah, they didn't hv any in stock (@ retentions) so I hv to go get the phone myself, but @ discounted price b/c of contract. I took the plan rightaway since I'm using N1. I hv no intentions of using the iphone4, I'll just end up giving it to my gf

Man that is a way better plan than what I got, I got the iPhone without looking at this first! I was so excited to get the phone that I didn't really care about the plan. Anyone know if you can call fido back and renogiate after u sign up for a contract I'm guessing no?

Got this plan through retentions several days ago:

And on top of that some special I get for being a long time customer. (Subtracting $10 each bill until end of contract, so $17.50/month)

Still gotta add that 6gb data before its gone

I am currently in the end of my 2nd year of a 3-year $40/month plan (Aug 2008-Aug 2011) which includes:

-200 min anytime
-1000 evening & weekends
-200 sms
-Fido to Fido
-Caller ID
-Voicemail

This account is under my mother's name and she's with Fido as well hence the Fido to Fido plan.

My question is: Is there anyway to lower the monthly fee or increase some SMS without any substantial increase? I was thinking about adding a $15 data plan with BBM if possible.

my gf got offered the same plan as you, but for $32.50 instead.

she went with the 6gb for $47.50

yeah, had to sign another 3 yrs but it's ok, been with fido for many yrs now and no problem so far and have a decent phone to use

i guess as a loyal customer, i spoke with retentions and i asked them what they can offer me, then what I want (the necessities) then asked for a little more, they were really easy with me as long as you say, you are comparing what wind and telus offers (never mention rogers cuz it is the sister company)

wind is pretty gay, i called customer service for info and they told me all in all, i have to buy their own sim card and their own phones cuz they use a diff frequency as rogers/fido i think 1900/2100

when comparing i just said that i want to see what you can offer me then mention that i'll have to see what wind or telus offers me, i just mention that i want to upgrade an iphone and then i want to get a good plan that's basically it

got the iphone 16gb for 120 (cuz i had like 60 fido dollars) then they gave me a bonus $50 fido bux for future use

They offered me $57 for that plan BEFORE taxes and if I change it from 6gb -> 500mb, they gave me $47.50 BEFORE taxes. What a joke lol

Best idea is to not check these threads. Seeing other people's plans make me depressed lol

I know this is unlikely but if I cancel the remainder of my contract with Fido and incur the penalty, can I use my Fido Dollars towards this payment?

Since they don't have any iphone4 available with them they said to find one from another kiosk or apple store and sign with any contract. Phone retention right after and they will change the plan to the retention plan offered? What do you guys think of this plan?
