The old North America plans from the US were a lot better. It treated all of North America as one calling area without any roaming or long distance fees.

I believe the Fido ones still have roaming fees.

I didn't even have to do that. I just called retentions directly, and asked if they had them in stock. She checked, and then I told her I had a plan on file... and the rest just follows.

I was ready with a whole story about asking though. If she asked I was going to say I'd been going to Fido stores for 2-3 weeks and the CSR finally gave me Retentions' number so that I could call and check directly, because they're the only ones that can order them... but she never asked.

Ship notice first, then the back order notification like 12 hours later. Odd... Especially because the ship notice clearly says shipped for both items.

Also they both have 3gs but my mom was on a $15 data plan before, now I put them both on a $10 Flex data plan, gives you 100mb per month, if you go over it's less damage then without the flex plan, ie. 500mb would be $30 as opposed to $25 but if you don't use it then yeah. 100 mb good enough to check e-mails, weather, stocks etc. they don't youtube so I figured its alright.

So here's what Fido offered me:

Unlimited incoming and outgoing calls from within Canada to any number (landline, wireless, digital, or whatever) in Canada or the US.

Unlimited SMS from within Canada to any Canadian or US wireless number.

Regular price is $50 but they gave me a discount of $5 for 36 months; therefore, the voice portion of my plan is $45. No SAF or 911 fee.

iPhone bundle on top adds Visual Voicemail, Caller ID, and Who Called: regular price is $10 but they gave me a full offset of $10 for 36 months. Therefore, cost of bundle is NIL.

Data plan of 6gb for $30 remains unchanged.

Total cost of my voice, iPhone bundle, and data plan is $75 plus HST = $84 all taxes in.

I got my wife the following plan:

250 minutes
Unlimited incoming
Unlimited evenings starting at 5pm and unlimited weekends

The above is $17.50 with no SAF or 911 fee.

well, i started with im looking to renew my plan, since i have less than a yr left. After that i asked what plans were available. Then told them some friends of mine got a wicked deal on a plan, and i wanted the same thing.

At first i asked for unlimited incoming and all that as well and he said no because thats more than 30$ credit towards my plan, after that we went back and forth negotiating, then finally he gave in and gave me evening starting @ 5 and fido to fido/roger which i already have.

In the end i pretty much got what i was going for, current plan is:

for 50$ + tax

NOW when i get my hands on a iphone4
