Got them to throw in Fido2Fido for my plan =D

Now I just have to call in everyday to get my iPhone 4.

Anyone been lining up at any stores? What time should I get there at? Should I bother going on a Sunday? Tips? Thanks!

Half bullshit, half research. And half timing? (You do the math...) I was paying $35 before for 350 mins/Weekend and 5PM Free/Unlimited text + $7 for CiD and VM.

Note: My contract is ending in 2 months, and I've complained before about dropped calls.

Day 1: First thing I told them was that I will not renew with Fido due to the number of dropped calls I've been getting.

I then told them that my brother (I don't have any siblings) is on Rogers and he NEVER gets dropped calls. I also contacted Rogers any got a couple offers to sign a 3 years plan. They asked me what Rogers offered me and I made up some plan on the spot (not a good idea, do your homework before hand)

So they quickly offered a new plan which saves me about $20 while matching Rogers plan. ($25 for 200 mins/2500 texts/evening/after 5PM/CiD/VM) Then I asked about iPhone 4s, they were sold out so I got them to hold the offer for me until I get an iPhone 4.

Day 2: I did a little homework and scanned the Rogers retentions thread to see what other people got. I wrote down this deal that someone else got ($20 for 300 mins/weekends/evenings after 5PM/2500 text/CiD/VM/Rogers2Rogers)

When I called them again, I had to wait for around 42 minutes before my call was dropped again (ironically enough). When I called again, the first thing I did was bitch about being dropped and how I wasted 42 minutes earlier. The guy was very apologetic and I believe this made my negotiation easier.

I then told him about that $20 plan and told the guy that Rogers offered me this plan and I will be signing a contract with them to get an iPhone 4. The gentlemen then asked to put me on hold for a minute and came back with a new offer: $17.50 for 300 mins/weekends/evenings after 5PM/2500 text/CiD/VM. Once again, I have this offer saved and I'm just waiting to see if I can cop an iPhone 4.

Day 3: I called them again this morning to negotiate my mom's plan from $15(50 mins/50txt) + $7 for CiD to $20(100mins/50txt/CiD) and to ask 'em to ship me an iPhone. Once again iPhones are sold out. I told them I called Rogers again and they do have iPhones in stock; and that they are matching the same plan they offered above for $17.50. I am also willing to cancel my current contract with Fido so I can switch my phone number over before November. The lady told me to hold on for a second and when she came back with:

Step by step enough? Now I'm just trying to call in for my iPhone 4 before the $30 for 6GB ends. Hopefully I can get them to give me $5 credit on the data add-on or 50% off data for the first year AND/OR sell me the 32gig iPhone for the price of the 16gig. Wish me luck.

lol I have no idea how people do it -- I know the retention and reps all have the notes readily available in front of them. My mother called rogers CSR and they were able to tell her everything about the plan I recieved, and random details about the call including the exact time that I hung up.

Yes, I am on rogers, not fido.

Thats about it... More than enough for me but I feel like I'm paying a lot for a 9yr customer

Called 3 times today, first guy didn't offer me any deals and that was the direct retention #, I was told it was only $150 to cancel my plan, So clearly they weren't taking me seriously considering I have 1 account with 3 lines. Took 3 times to get that deal and it wasn't even that great. I straight up said to the first guy, after he said that they had given me many deals in the past, that "fido obviously didn't want my business because I'm a whiny cheapass."

pretty sure every callcenter write notes regarding each calls.. i know we do at shaw ~ and i don't think you'll know if your account is flagged. i know for shaw if u call everyday to bitch and complain about promotions or discount. we'll put a no more promotion code on your acc so it won't matter what rep you get or you can call infinite times. so i'm sure rogers/fido have something similar

my third call was already like that. most likely they offered you a pretty sweet deal which you didn't take, and they started to catch on

Just got my iphone sent from fido! Called and complained on the 27th, received it on today. It just made my day thinking that i have cut in line of a 500 wait list at fido =] hahahah

I kind of experienced that too with my first call yesterday, the man at the 1877 retention number was reluctant to give me any special deals besides the $30 6gb,

WOW FML fido website under my account won't let me change to my new micro sim, says my current one is incorrect T_T and they locked my account after trying 3 timess

got my iphone yesterday and i ordered on sept 24th, so far so good, but the phone shipped with ios 4.1 ,, waiting for jailbreak for this firmware to release.
