It is possible but it is a tough. Getting credits require work, they won't just give it away for free. |

It really depends on the rep you get. Just be nice and polite to them and they will be nice to you too. When I got my retention plan, it was difficult because the rep wouldn't budge. But then when I called in to get a retention plan for my girlfriend, all i had to say is, I want to put my girlfriend on the same retention plan as me, which is 200 daytime minutes, f2f, 2500 text, evenings at 7pm. The rep goes "sure no problem" without any questions asked. If you guys want credit, call in and add a service, like flex data. they'll probably give it to you for $10 additional (should be $15 but they credit you $5). Call back in a couple days later, tell them you want to cancel flex cause you don't need it, and they'll just take off the flex data but the $5 credit stays on the account. Not sure if it works for everyone but it did for mine. I'm paying $20 for 200 daytime minutes f2f 2500 text unlimited evenings and weekend.. (evenings at 7pm) voice mail call id |

I thought flex data starts at $10 for 100mb and goes up from there? |
I thought so too, but somehow when I look at the ebill, it says $15 for Flex , then credit $5. |

right now I have: 200 anytime Unlimited E/W Unlimited incoming CID $25 +$10 unlimited text +Flex-data |
So who has the best plan right now?? Posted via RS Mobile |
In this thread, for a non-data plan, I would say atodac. Quote:

I never use minutes , the most i've used is maybe like 50 a month. Data is what i want. |
Discounts for data is tough to get. IIRC, they offered 6GBs for $20 and that was with a $10 discount. But I couldn't justify getting data when it was worth more than my voice plan. |
Heres my plan right now with Fido. 200 minutes data 50mb us/can text evenings at 5 caller id/voicemail unlimited text/picture/ettc 5 dollar credit 53 bucks, pretty bad. |
Does Fido offer any deals better than their website for new customers? Retentions only work if you are a long time customer right? |
No retention for new customers, but you will be eligible after 3 months. |
my plan 200 day time unlimited incoming/ unlimited evening 5pm/unlimited weekend call display/vm 2500 text 27 Plus tax = $30 (contract expiring 2012 dec) i called today to inquire about data (was told $30 for 6gb data) but i need to sign 2 year plan for data only.. that means i have to stay with fido for 2 year atleast for data. asked how much to cancel my account. was told $140 (i though its $20 per month)? thinking of porting to another provider? any ideas? |
I've got two lines with fido on the same account. Here's what I got: Line 1: Unlimited calls and text messages from anywhere in fido network to any number (land or mobile) in North America. 6GB data CID/VVM/Who called $90 - $25 credits = $65 plus HST. Line 2: 200/unl. Inc. & E/WE @ 5pm. Unl. international texts 6GB data CID/VVM/WC $70 - $25 credits = $45 plus HST I fought long and hard for those deals and had to take my argument to Fido's Office of the President once because a Retentions rep had promised a bunch of stuff to keep my business but when my business was secured, oddly, none of the promised credits and plans showed up on my next invoice. My 3-year contract was going to expire on the 9th, called in (611) yesterday to see if I could renew my contract for 2 years with the same credit and got what I wanted. 200 minutes + Unlimited evening and week-end starting at 5 p.m. Call Display w/Name Display 100 text messages including credits and before tax - $17.50/month. Really pleased with what I got because it's all I needed. |

I'm pretty unhappy with my current fido plan. my old 3 year contract is expiring next week and unless fido can offer me a wicked deal i might suck it up and swap over to mobilicity to pick up the student plan for $25. the only downside is i hear the service and coverage is pretty shitty overall. dropped calls and messages, along with no bars in a lot of areas. hopefully in the future they improve on this old plan: 200 min + evenings and weekends @ 5pm 3gb data 2500 texts within canada caller id + voicemail after credits and tax is $63~ the new plan they offered me: 250 minutes + unlimited incoming calls along with evenings and weekends @ 5pm unlimited international texting 6gb data caller id + voicemail after credits and tax is $72~ not very happy with that. i told them i didn't need international texting and 6gb data is an extreme overkill. i had trouble burning through all 3gb's i had previously even when i used my phone as a hotspot for my laptop on the go. i told them essentially i wanted either unlimited calling or more minutes and more text messages. i don't own a home phone, so it's essential that my cell phone would offer me what i need. opinions or advice on what i can do at the moment? TIA |
^^^Ask for a better plan when renewing^^^ I did that and my plan: -Unlimited incoming/outgoing calling (and I really mean unlimited and not restricted to the 2500min/month). -2500 international texting -Caller ID, Enhanced Voicemail, Who Called -6GB of Data $54+taxes |
