No. The guys at Wireless Etc. were immensely helpful. First I went to see if I was eligible for a Rogers HW upgrade, then got interested in Fido's new plan (unlimited texting vs. Rogers would only offer MY5). The guys at Wireless Etc. were able to get Rogers to terminate my contract one year early w/o termination fee and signed me up on a new Fido contract.

^If you switch between Rogers/Fido, there is a new clause which allows them to waive the ECF pending on the # of months you have left.

I'm paying $61.54 a month. I know this is way to early to ask but I wonder if they would be able to give me unlimited incoming, visual voicemail, caller id and 2500 text messages and waive sif and 911 like they did for everyone else :)

I hear on howardforums that some drastic changes are going to happen to the retentions dept (possibly even closed permanently) at the beginning of March, so I'm going to call in before the end of the week. Hopefully I can get a decent unlimited incoming/evening+weekend plan for $25 and some data. I've been a monthly customer for 4 years, contract expiring in June.

I don't know what you guys are talking about when you said don't talk to dudes. I just got off the phone from retentions and the guy on the the line was super nice! I said telus was willing to give me a BB pearl and 3GB worth of data, plus the plan I have now all for less than what I'm paying with fido right now. The fellow tried to give me all that but said I have to wait 'till april for a phone upgrade, so I should call back then, and since he couldn't give me that, he said he would upgrade my txting to unlimited, and group my voicemail, caller ID, and all that stuff together so I will be saving $15 a month.

I'm going to call back in april to get my blackberry and data haha
