Fido Retention Plans

FYI the calling minutes really become a moot point if you have 6gig data. Just get Tango app and you can make calls anytime and it uses your data. You can do voice and video calls over Tango and at no cost to your "minutes" as it uses your 3G and data. The app is Free.

I got the 6gigs for 5$ when I renewed.

Yes. Fido still offers the 6GB for $30. The only thing is that you either already have to have a data commitment or you would have to resign you're commitment for another 2-3yrs. They do not have the option just to add it as a month to month though. But if you're already under a data commitment, it could just replace you're current data contract with the 6GB so ur commitment doesn't change

Maybe that's why. When I called in for a friend they told me they could just do it for 500mb on the retention plan she got offered.

lol, just tell them this is what someone else was offered LAST WEEK. they can't deny you and say "oh that offer must be expired", it's a bullshit excuse they use to offer you less.

Is that with tax included? If it is thats a pretty decent plan especially with 6gb of data. But on a berry you'll NEVER need that much

anyways, quick question. the lady at Fido said in order for my minutes part of the plan to change to $25, I'll have to wait for the ip4s to arrive and activate it at the store. but, I'm quite sure I'd rather keep my BB instead. She was saying that once the ip4s is activated, it will deactivate my old sim. is this true?

I know that the ip4s uses the micro sim but all they have to do is copy my sim onto a micro sim then break it so it can work. I'm not understanding how this will deactivate my original sim card.

I think your old sim would become "unregistered" once everything is transferred to the new one. I could be wrong

Same problem. Didn't know this was going to happen, so after i got my microsim and realized that my old sim didn't work. I went home and immediately gave a call to fido, spoke with the rep and the rep gave me credit for a new sim . (said the phone was ment for my brother). The new sims that you get from fido should have an adapter for microsim.

Also you MUST activate the iphone4s in store, no choice. Believe me i tried lol

that might be them blowing smoke outta their ass to get you to pay more. i have a semi-shitty retention plan (200 mins, weekends evenings at 5, 2500 txt. call id/voicemail for 27.50) then the 6gb add-on for $30. when i told them i needed my data plan to work for my bb. they told me normally i can choose either social network, or bbm. but since i have 6gb, i can have unlimited of both

i have that plan they let me choose 6gb or unlimited text... i chose unlimited text but can call back to switch it anytime

i said i dont really need data since i have wi-fi pretty much everywhere i go, they said they can give me 100mb for $50.

No one is going to give you a reference number to their plan.

You wouldn't only jeopardize yourself but you would be jeopardizing the other person's who's reference you have.

You shouldn't call them directly, always call them through CS.

They know when you call them so its a better plan to get them through CS.

Just say you are not satisfy with your plan and how much you are paying compared to other competitors.

They will offer you and you say not good enough and they should redirect you.

well .. my plan is 27.50 for 200 daytime, 2500sms, VM, CID, evenings @5pm with $10 flex data ... they will ask what other competors can match that.. what do i say then

So i just called cs and then they directed me to retention (i think)... i told them that my plan is not competitive and told them about the $25 mobilicity plan and they won't freakin budge one bit. they said I have the cheapest plan and if i want to get another plan, it would be 5-10 dollars more than what i'm paying now. they basically told me that I can just continue with my plan as is and not renew my contract. They said that under new rules, they cannot match other competitors because "their services are different".

My current plan:
17.50 - 200daytime, unlim evening/weekend @5
10 - value pack (CID, VM, 2500sms)
10 - flex data
