What people should really be negotiating with is Bell's plans like this one:

The most they can give you in maybe a 5 dollar credit, 10 if you are lucky.

not true. it depends on the rep. my gf got that plan, plus flex and the iphone 4. they jsut add a bunch of credits to the plan

so... i reserved an iP4s but i haven't been receiving any weekly updates on where my phone is and when it will arrive. should i be concerned? :/

^lawl I had that problem. Tracked my phone through ups and it said delivered to concord Ontario for about 3 weeks and stayed like that. Called fido and they didn't know what's up. Ended up reserving one from apple instead and cancelled the one from fido after it arrived.

their retention plans kinda suck now

You know, the FASTEST and BEST way to get the IP4s, IMO, is to get it straight from Apple.

You just go to the apple website: Apple (Canada) - Apple Retail Store - iPhone 4S and reserve your Iphone at 9PM at night, and pick it up the next day in the store you choose.

The apple store can help you do hardware upgrade for ANY carrier. You don't pay the apple store a penny and walk out with the IP4S because they will bill your carrier, and your carrier will bill you on your next monthly invoice. ($159 hup price I suppose)

Another advantage of this is that you get an UNLOCKED iphone4s with a free micro sim for your carrier. So if you want to flip it on craigslist it will be easier.

I did this last week when I did a HUP with Rogers. I called like 10 rogers store and no one had ip4s in stock. But a friend at Rogers told me this awesome trick and I got my IP4s the next day. But you MUST reserve it at 9PM, any later you will not be able to reserve it.\

If i were you, I would give this a try and when you do get the IP4s from apple, you can just cancel the Fido reservation. There is no reservation cancellation fee I think

Okay, so I picked up my phone on Sunday and had a bit of a fiasco to deal with. Upon picking up the phone, Fido somehow decided they would upgrade my plan to the 6gb without any authorization from me. I was still in the store and the employee told me to call customer service immediately and have them fix it.

While I was on the phone, a girl came by to pick up her ip4s as well and ended up having the same freaking problem as me! We were all like... :seriously: ???

So turns out, this is some sort of upsell strategy they use. I would have ended up paying more for the 6gb plan and less educated customers might think this was a good deal of some sort.

On top of this, when they reversed the changes made, they didn't reinstate my blackberry value package and instead gave me an iphone value package despite the fact I said I'm giving the ip4s as a gift. This meant that my BBM no longer worked and I had to call them again today to fix that shit.

Fido has been making unauthorized changes to my account after i called, the Rep told me my bill was going to be 50 after tax , right now it is 68 or something..

So no good? I know people have voice plan and 6 gig data for $50 but I am not ready to pay that premium yet. I want it cheap and a good deal

If it fits your data usage, that's a very good price point.

I agree, if you use a Blackberry OR can keep your data usage under 150mb, it's a good deal.
